Hello fellow detailers. I am trying to create a maintenance program called the "Status Club" to better serve my clients. . .

but for some reason I am just completely stumped and can't make up my mind how I want to do this.

There are a few things that I think I want.

-Monthly Billing (What's the best solution to this?)

-Initially the clients must purchase at least a "Deluxe" detail to qualify to become a member.

-varying levels of membership

-A discount on major details (preferably purchased annually and discount depending on level of membership)

-I really want this to be good. I want to sign up my best clients (preferably with luxury, exotic, and show cars)

HERE'S MY PROBLEMS:

-I'm not mobile, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make this convenient for my clients. I've thought about buying an inexpensive van just for maintenance work (probably rinseless washing and waxing), but really don't won't to be seen driving around in a vehicle that doesn't represent my business well.

-How do I work out this scheduling nightmare? I stay busy. I'm not looking to sign up hundreds of people. I'm low volume. Maybe around 10-20 of my absolute cream of the crop clients.

Please help my out guys. Perhaps some of you shop based guys already have a plan like this. How's it working?

I'm open to suggestions.

What about collecting on their first wash of the month? That way nothing is setup recurring unless they pay and they know when the money is actually being handed as compared to another way such as automatic billing. As for perks of being a member you could offer a free wash for every 10 or so or offer incentives for referrals.

As for the mobile side would rinseless washes and a wipedown of the wheels be about it? If so you could just pick up some gamma lids and fill up the 5 gallon buckets before you leave for a vehicle, they're watertight and easily transportable.

Also I've seen many sites use Google Calendars that allow customers to sign up by themselves, a simple email confirmation reply required would be all you need to confirm the date/time/location.

this is soley just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.....on your first tab under the problems, if your only doing "maintance work" you really arent going to need your whole arsolal of chemicals, equipment, etc... so can you get by without having to get a van? will your neccessities that you would need for the job fit in your vehicle?

the only reason i say that is because of your statement where you want to represent your business properly. im sure you keep your vehicle in tip top shape so you will be promoting your business by letting people see your work first hand.

and on another note, you really arent trying to drum up business becuase you are looking to keep this within your top customers and their vehicles, so in a way you really dont need a "van" or "trailer" that has your info plastered since these people already know what your skill level is. so since your not really trying to "find business" mabe it wont hurt to keep everything a little more discreet..

again, these are just the things that popped into my head as i read your post. mabe it will help, and if not i am so sorry i have wasted your time for having to read all this mess i tried to put into words hahah

I have 4 weekly customers they just pay after each detail after I'm done and I give them a discount for being weekly. It takes me 2 hours todo their cars and I charge $75 for each one. If I have todo anything past the basic I charge them more and they have no problem with it. They drop their cars off shop I give them a ride back to their house and pick them up when its done. They tip very well each time I detail their cars.

They know the type of work you do. i dont think theyll mind if you show up in your daily driver to perform a maintenance wash to their vehicles.

like Daniel said, you wont need to haul around all your products. this is purely a maintenance wash/wax. take what you need, anything else and theyll bring it to you.

you could always hire someone? train em for a couple of weeks.. but thats just asking for more headaches/trouble
