There seems to be some debate over whether Dawn will strip LSP. I'm too new to this to have an opinion, but I do have a question. Last Fall I washed my vehicle in Dawn as there were several layers of carnauba. I then applied a sealant and went the entire winter with no maintenance. In the spring, the paint was near perfect and beaded very well. Obviously, the sealant bonded. Does this mean that:
1. The Dawn stripped the carnauba?
or
2. The sealant bonded over the carnauba?
#1 seems to be in questions these days and #2 seems to be impossible according to this forum. Is there real proof that sealants wont bond over other products? Could it depend more on the type of sealant used? Is there proof that one sealant won't bond over another?
