It's 2013 AG. I know that Styrofoam offers better compression than *air bags* but how about the ECO Friendly Packing Nuts

Great packaging but when all said and done, about 75% of volume was styrofoam packaging.

I'd LOVE TO HEAR someone at AG take initiative and figure about a more eco friendly way on shipping/packaging.

You can request paper instead of peanuts - just add it to the comments section and they'll hook you up!

Paper is great and all....Would just love to see AG minimize it's impact on the environment. Not to get all tree-hugger on you, but most shipping depts have resorted to paper, air bags, eco friendly packing nuts, etc.

After the glee of getting a box full of goodies, I was somewhat disappointed to see 75+% of the volume of the box was filled with a product that takes 100+ years to break down.

Every time I order I forget to request paper... -___-

My fault, I know. Next time I'll remember!

The peanuts do bother me Every. Single. Time. :xyxthumbs:

Agreed - request paper (a 100% renewable resource).

I've asked for paper before in the Comments box, but it seems like it always holds my package up an extra day because anything in the Comments box has to be approved. Rather annoying.

Is that why my orders never ship the next day? I always thought it was because I order during sales and they get swamped.

I think they should start packing with real popcorn. That way I would have something to eat after giving all my money to Autogeek

:p

Of course there is the small issue of spilled product getting onto the popcorn and into the customers...

This topic comes up time after time, I will answer it the way we have before and add a little to catch you up to what we have in the warehouse packing now.
We have 12 packing stations for retail alone and in which only three now use peanuts. There are certain items we will only pack with peanuts due to damages unless the customers request paper.
But for the most part 80% of packages leave here with paper in them. If you request paper it will not hold your order up, with our extended hours now we are packing way into the night now.

Hope this clears it all up for you. :props:

I've made the suggestion before (to Penny), but do you think it feasible to change the check out page a tinny bit to have a "check box" for paper shipping, instead of making a special comment every time.

Ultimately, I would prefer my account be flagged "paper only" but I am sure that this is a little unrealistic.

Well I was just about to ##### up and down the forum about this. I just got my first shipment and over 1/3 of the empty box has peanuts. Inexcusable!

Really, it should not be a request. We should request peanuts. Default should be paper or plastic "balloons"...now I have to go around and try to get rid of these wasting my time.

I'm new here and haven't ordered anything YET .. But do they really use actual peanuts? Or is that a stereotype for something else?

Never had anyone pack with peanuts.
