Pls help me pick first polisher kit

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and new to auto detailing. I want to buy my first polishing kit and need some advice. I will be using the kit to work on my tan 2001 Honda Odyssey mini-van and my black 1998 Toyota Camry. These cars have been pretty neglected in terms of exterior care, and they have some decent scratches in addition to swirls. I don't really have the experience to say if the swirls are medium or heavy (maybe I should post pics?).

Anyway, I was thinking of either getting the PC 7424XP Heavy Duty Swirl Remover Kit, or the Flex 3401 Heavy Duty Swirl Remover kit. The Flex package is about $120 more, and that's not a big deal to me, but at the same time I don't want to waste money buying features/power/abilities that I'm not really going to take advantage of. Maybe I should be considering another option all together? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
 
Look for a Flex with Menzerna polishes or get the Flex with Meg's 105/205 combo. This will take care of most if not all of your marring.

The FLEX kit you posted is really a great setup. The XMT series is just a fantastic product and will serve you well. I really like that it comes with all the stuff you would need as a beginner. Grab an extra orange and white pad so you dont only have one polishing pad and one cutting pad.

Stay away from the XMT polishes and either get the Menzerna or Megs kit. You can not go wrong with either of those.
 
trust me in the long run its not an upsell , its truly my favorite kit and sell dozens to our corvetteforum friends too. All products do as they offer, and easy to use. I cannot wait to see your review and I know you will be pleased that you spent a little more initially.

Wow nice kit. All you need now is a last step product.

The last 4 or 5 details I have done has made a big difference in the way I do a LSP.

I have started to use a sealant to seal in the polished paint then top it with a high quality wax. The combo is very had to beat.

I had a PM from a member on a car forum I participate on of telling me that after driving 2 hours in the rain there was no dirt on his car. This is due to the Fuzion topper. We detailed his Bonneville during a recent meet in CT.

I just did my sisters Bonneville and should be posting the write up tonight on AG. I will tell you that Pinnacle Liquid Souverän Wax rocks on white cars!
