Polish before car pro coating

It contains fillers you'd have to remove with a panel prep.

I used Primer and it was easy to work with. I don't like that it stains black trim though.

I think coatings was being sarcastic.

You should get another bottle and give it a try, I will be shocked if you dont like the end results ( not talking about the application process )

I still have it! I might be using it this weekend.

Based on what you have go with perfecting cream. Ultimate Polish is a bit too oily.

And your arm won't fall off trying to remove the PC.

Unless Meg's has reformulated UP in the 8 or-so years since I whipped my bottle in the trash, it SUCKS to remove.

How does this compare to sonax amp 03-06? For some reason I have a unused bottle.

It's been hit or miss.

I used a newer bottle last weekend and it was leaving those clear deposits that are really difficult to remove. I used to be able to remedy it by shaking the bottle really thoroughly, but this one wasn't having it.

I'm missing my Jescar polishes, so I have some on their way soon. I sold off my last batch that I got 33% off for $9.00 on ebay. Took a total bath on them... three 32oz bottles, and five 8oz bottles for $9.00 + shipping.

They are both good polishes and it is more preference as opposed to one of the polishes being truly better. I haven’t used Perfecting Cream but I use the Fast Correcting Cream a lot and really like it. And I’ve got Rupes, Sonax, Meguiar’s, Menzerna, etc, etc polishes but I use the FCC most.

Both are probably very similar they are light finishing polishes. Why not just try both and see what you like? I doubt you will see any difference in the finish between the 2. But one might cut a little bit better.

A lot of this stuff comes down to user experience and for me oily polishes are a deal breaker unless they are absolutely better than the rest. But i have yet to see that.

No I wasn’t. I thought I read before that P21s cleanser was fine. No idea about the fillers. Wouldn’t it kinda make it like a one step?

Apex says you can use before coating in his review.

I thought it was an AIO. I didn't read it carefully. :) I never used one of those cleansers before.

I can relate, but for me it's dusting. I hate dust, but I'm getting better at reducing it.

I've been more recently using Megs M105 and I've been able to mitigate the dusting by short cycling, using less product, and (like usual) brusing out the pad after each section. What dust I do get is minimal. But that won't keep it in rotation though.

You might like CarPro polishes. One thing I appreciated about them was easy wipe off. Especially with Reflect. That polish would be a great choice for use before a coating. Perfect Finish was another that wiped off pretty easily. But they dusted a bit too much for my taste. I preferred NP 03-06 over PF for that reason.

With the oily polishes, I reduce the amount of polish I put on the pad as to avoid a nightmare wipe off scenario. Towel choice plays a factor there too. I like the TRC 360 type of cloths. The Eagles tended to smear the oils around, but I it also could have been that I was using too much back then.

Yeah i bought the TRC 360's this year! (Mike (The Guz) mentioned it) They are just what i need, i really like them.

You probably seen me mention it before and you probably even tried it - the next time i use 3D one(i will) i might mix up 4 or 5 liters of rinseless wash to soak a few towels. I will use that as my initial wipe. I got the tip from a detailer in the UK/forums. I still really want to like 3D one i really don't know why lol Maybe its just the nice bottle/cap and the smell. Most of my polishes are neutral. Not that 3D one has an overwhelming smell. Has for perfect finish i have no issues with dusting. It will dust if i work it too long but that's really not my style. My style is very close to the standard rupes system. 6-8x pad size working sections for 2-3 slow passes for about 1 min. Brush/Reload. I also do 3-4 working sections before i go back to wipeoff the residue something i got from the same UK detailer(he's on youtube). It's so relaxing! I can really focus on polishing and then put down my polisher and start the clean up instead of going back and forth constantly.

Hello,

I want to thank everyone for their replies. I put on two coats yesterday and the car looks great. I made a mistake with how long I waited to put on the second coat. For some reason I thought the instructions said to wait 60 minutes to put on the second coat but it actually meant to do it within 60 minutes. I waited exactly 60 minutes to put on the second coat. Does this this hurt the coating in any way?

Thank you
