Polish Drying Too Fast...

ok...the oxidation may be sucking in the oils in the polish....is the paint single stage ?..if you have a AIO type product try that for the cleaner chemical properties to remove the oxidation....see if that works any better then try your polish....

use a green LC pad and load it with a AIO type product and work the area....see if that helps cut the oxidation....or even a paint cleansing product

Was the same cloudiness also on the hood and front fenders?
I'm asking because that has stumped me before on another black car. The rest of the car wasn't oxidized/cloudy, only the hood. I didn't have a problem with the car, but I couldn't get the polish working on the hood. Just like you, it dried in a few seconds and wouldn't do crap. The hood wasn't hotter than the rest of the car.....the only difference was the "cloudiness" was only on the hood. The most aggressive stuff I had then was XMT3 and Orange LC pad. Went over 3 times and it didn't make a dent! I still haven't solved it.

Al, I was doing that as you were posting this. I used my CG AIO, then wiped off with alc. Tried 106 with white CCS and it is still drying. Im not sure if the paint is single stage or not. Its an 01 Range Rover. Even the AIO started to dry a little.

The same oxidation was on the hood and front fender. Came right off with SIP and CCS white on rotary.

Im at a total loss here guys!?!?!

Looks like you found the 8th Wonder of the World...:D

That is so odd

I just went over the hood with 106, absolutely no problems. WTF?

So what do you think changed Dan? What's your therory?

The detailing gods are punishing me because this is my last week of detailing until next summer.

I have no idea though Jimmie. The hood never gave me problems. Just the other panels. But I wanted to try the hood again to see if anything had changed with that, but it hasn't. So the polish is still drying too fast on the other panels, just not the hood. Ive given up for tonight. Ill reclay the other panels tomorrow morning and give it another shot. If it still doesn't work, then Im not sure what to do?

Nope, dont have any. I had to give the car back to the customer. Of course they were thrilled with just the wash, and interior detail. I refused to accept any payment though.

Im using 106FF on my car right now and Im not having any problems. It had to of been something with the paint.
