I haven't been on here in years, mainly due to FB groups..
But curious if I'm the only one still using a 25mm longthrow?
I also discovered a 3in forced mini that I'll have my hands on soon!

It'll work so much better than my Makita with 3in Griot HD plate lol

Wow. I’m not sure I’d qualify 25mm as long throw, more like LLLOOONNNGGG throw. What machine do you use that has a 25mm orbit? Have you compared it to a 25mm long throw and if so, do you notice a huge difference? Any challenges running it? I’m assuming you’d have to use that on larger vehicles with more flat panels and less curves or body lines.

No challenges using it,..its pad ghosting with a 5in plate is very similar to a 21mm with 6in plate.

Think I had the machine since 2017 or 2018

Ive used it on curvy cars,
Like any freespin DA, larger the throw, better the correction... same goes for smaller the plate, better the correction.

Refract on Australia has the forced mini,
Best route is buying a downstepper machine..(speed controller works)
If you just swap to a USA plug, it'll run, but speed controller sadly doesnt work.
China has them, but you need 300 orders to get one

Checheng makes the 25mm longthrows(no required purchase quantities?

I got 2 delivered Monday
Its pretty smooth, no real walk
Seems to work well.
Im going to play with a few different pad weights and modify a plytapus style grip to swap on

Ike my makita PO5000C, it works better with a lighterC thin pro vs thicker/heavier rupes ir LC HDO/Force pads..
Unlike the Makita, its not picky on weights..its still smooth woth a pure wool pad..

Machine corrects well, it does get a tad warm at hand rest. New grease shouldn't remedy that!
I haven't broke open the polisher yet.
Going by BP, im just going to assume its more like a mille inside than a makita or flex until i do open it.

Think it cost me 250 shipped for the pair.

I had to pull strings to get them as they require 200units min.

Easier way to get this machine is jist get the 220v version through refract or another vendor and then buy a down stepper machine.

I may talk to manufacture and see if they can just do a group buy deal

I also need to check what the plate rotation is....counter or clockwise.

I use my 21mm DA on most cars that don't have a lot of curves. Otherwise I use the 8mm DA.

Went wet sanding I usually compound with a rotary and polish with either DA depending on curves again.

Although the 21mm with a wool pad is also good at removing sanding marks so if I was gonna use that machine to polish, I usually use it to compound as well.

Never heard of a 25 mm long throw, that must be really restrictive in terms of pannel flatness, I doubt I would like it

25 mm with a 5in has a very similar pad ghosting as a 21/6un combo
25/6in Ghosting is bad.
Been using the 25/5 combo since like 2018/2019 whichever the debut was

Really liking this like 3in forced mini though
May keep it as my goto supplement machine
