i have a black sapphire bmw, and am seriously looking at buying a pc, my paint is in pretty good condition, i have a picture of a sunshot in the "garage" section, ive heard menzerna was good, but really finnicky with the pc, what polishes do u recommend, and should i go with the edge pads or ccs? and i was kinda thinking 5.5 but all suggestions are welcome!

i want a flex, but being in college and just doing this as a hobby on my car makes the flex a little too expensive, do u think i should go with the pfw on the pc? oh and the pictures...

Need to know what kind of polish and wax can I use in the sun?
The reason is I live in an Apt. and there is no shade close enough for my extension cord or do I have to wait for a clody day,thanks I am new to all this and just bought a HD PC waiting for deliovery

I'm looking to purcahse either the PC 7424 or Megs G110 while on special. Looks like I need to get backing plate and counterweight with 7424. Is that correct?
They will be mainly for use on 99 Ford Ranger (red) needing minor correction and 99 Acura TL (black) needing major help. Also used for Diamondite on windshields....
Can I get much overall correction with 5.5 pads or do I need to get 4 as well? Maybe a few medium aggresive 4s for the hard spots?
Product suggestions appreciated, too!

:iagree::whs: There is your answer, certainly go with the Menzerna and save your money with experimenting with other polishes, personally go with the Flex, I have both polishers and trust me...the Flex will out perform the PC.

I too have a black BMW Z4.
I use a PC 7424 and a whole supply of different types of Lake Country CCS SmartPads.
Orange, White, Green, Grey, Blue and Red Pads.
In fact I just got done laying down another coat of Pinnacle Signature Series II wax down on the car.
With your black car, you will see swirl marks and scratches well before others do with lighter colors. I find that laying down a polymer wax/sealer and then a good Carnuba wax works in hiding the majority of imperfections until you can do a good clay/polish session.
I HIGHLY recommend the Porter Cable. It make putting and taking off wax, sealers and doing any polishing easy.

I worked for BASF when they were developing ceramiclear, I don't about know the final formula (which can change drastically from inception) but it started so hard it couldn't be buffed which was a problem for Mercedes because they couldn't buff their dirt. Everything was a repaint. Kind of like dealing with these flat black motorcycles.
