Hi, I'm new here and this is a great site. I just bought a 05 black monte carlo ss,... pure dope.:D Over all, I would say the paint looks very good. especially for an 05 black car. It has some very light swirls on the paint that are almost unnoticeable unless looking very closely. I would like to get the paint as in as good of condition that I am capable of. I have done alot of great reading on this site and am trying to decide what exactly I am going to buy. I had been given some Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish and some Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection. My question is, would the Blackfire products be a waste of time using with a Porter Cable 7424? or, should I look at something along the lines of Menzerna finishing polish, followed by Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. Thanks for any suggestions!

First,
Congratulations on the new car. I love those! Also thanks for being a good owner and being nice to your car! Now Im not familiar with the blackfire items. I have seen one review on their paste wax and it looked nice.

For polishing, the PC 7424XP is definitely your best bet. The new revision of the world favorite is here and should suite you well. Now for pads, you have too options.

1) LC: Lake Country makes some good pads. I use them still and like them. They were my first pads and I am still attached, but usually use the EDGE pads on the porter cable

2) EDGE: EDGE pads are nifty. They work via the edge adapter which screws into the PC and allows you to quickly snap pads on and off. I like the EDGE pads as they are dual sided. Its like two pads in one. Plus Aaron here is the man when/if should something happen with your system.

For polishes, I would suggest you take a look at the XMT series by Pinnacle. They are very beginner friendly and are not costly. If you are having light swirls, XMT 1-3 are good choices. 3 for any bad areas, 2 for light areas, 1 is more of a finishing polish to me.

For edge pads, you would want to get a green, blue and white pad.
Green is for swirl removal, blue is for light polish/swirls and white is for finishing polish, barely abrasive and can apply waxes as well. Leaves a very nice gloss.

I hope this helped.

I would grab some Menzerna PowerFinish and then a bottle of Wolfgangs 3.0 Paint Sealant. Both products should easily match those you were thinking about and best part sold here.
