Hello everyone, been a while since I last posted. My wifes 2003 Honda Accord was rear ended a couple of months ago.GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.Anywho,body work was performed, new hood, trunk and back bumper.Question is,how long does clearcoat have to cure before I'm able to polish?I know I can wax but I want to polish.Dealer did nice work but their detailer needs to take buffer 101:D.Any input would be welcome. Thanks in advance.Feed back please

60-90 days is usually the norm.. It is better to error on the side of caution.

You can polish right away but you need to wait 60 to 90 days before putting on any kind of protection because the paint needs to out-gas. Warmer weather will make this go faster. If you wax or seal it to soon, it can cause the paint to bubble.

Just like the others said 60-90 days depending on weather for sealant or wax. However if you need to do any polishing, wetsanding/leveling its best to do that after the specified time which is normally 12-24hrs because the longer you wait the harder the clear coat gets.
