Hi,

I'm a first time detailer ,

I have a few questions that could help me if had an answer to them,

Is there any point in using a "clear coat" cutting compound on windscreen glass ?

The other day I thought; dodo wax on the wind screen....so I did one half. Ran the window washers and the treated side was noticeably more hydrophobic.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this in the future ?

I have a 2001 Audi A3 dark blue I'm working on. I can clearly see orange peel , especially in the tight curve under the side windows, in the doors. Is this orange peel in the base paint or the clear coat ? How can I tell ? I'm assuming the clear coat has some. But are Audi know for sending out cars with base coat orange peel ?

I got myself a set of cutting pads, I've put them in order of density , thinking that the more dense the finer it would be. Though when I was using the the red one seemed more smooth on the surface that the green. Sadly they didn't come with notation. Are there universal colour codes ? The larger the pores the ....(finer or harsher) ?
