haven't really messed with this aspect of detailing because on my previous vehicle I ended up running dumps, but now I have 2 3.5" SS expensive tips, so all input on products, usage, and tips would be greatly appreciated

Blackfire Fine Cut Aluminum Polish is what I use now. As Scott mentioned some #0000 wool with the polish as a lubricant helps remove some nasty stains.

Never Dull Wadding Polish is good as well.

Optimum metal polish on a 4" White Flat Lake Country pad...
Does wonders! And the 4" Flat doesn't absorb too much product,

I also like Flitz stuff, but I can't get it here in Canada without overpaying for shipping, so I won't be buying the stuff anymore.

has anyone used mothers metal polishes, asking because I have a bottle or two on hand? is 0000 the best option? terry towel or mf out?

I have the uncoated aluminum polish, very good stuff!
But I only use it with polishing pads, not with towels..

Used Never Dull on my tips 14 months ago and they still look good. Seems like there is some sort of protection in the mix.

I just purchased a can of this and I didn't really like the outcome on chrome plastic trim but thanks for the idea on the tail pipes.

Yeah, I didn't like it on plastic chrome either.

0000 brass wool and Optimum Metal Polish! Cleans up the worst in a snap!

I've had great results with Autosol on my stainless steel mufflers.

I use Mothers Billet Polish on bare aluminum. On chrome I started using Optimum metal polish. I'm not sure how much I like it just yet since I've only used it twice. I always used Mothers billet for everything and never had an issue and the results were great.

Does the type of steel wool make a difference? I've never tried brass
