Polishing glass

IMHO...In the OP's situation...
-Instead of jumping right in to machine-polishing with a cerium oxide slurry,
as perhaps one would do on: 'Laminated-windshield auto glass...and,
from what I've also seen/read from other's postings...
has also been suggested for 'tempered auto glass'...

I believe a different, less aggressive approach should be first considered
when tempered-glass is to be "cleaned-up"/polished.

-Lot of unknowns, such as gaseous pockets, hidden within tempered auto-glass...
Just waiting to be disrupted!

Wow, there's a lot of good discussion going on here. It seems like everyone has had different results pertaining to polishing glass. Again, a lot of members are talking about windshields/rear windows. Bob gave some good info on the different kind of glass for side windows. So I think I'll just tackle this with Megs #4 by hand. If it works, awesome, if not, well I'll let my brother know about the risks.
