Polishing Mercedes SLK

Hey Rocket, speaking of finishing with a blue pad, is red OK as well?

The PC is a tool made for sanding wood, and was adopted for use on car finishes to be easier and more effective than working by hand. The beauty of it is the slippage of the clutch mechanism makes it a good tool for anyone to use without the heat/friction possibility of damage of the rotary. The drawback of this safety mechanism is the PC is limited as to how aggressive it can be, no matter what the aggressiveness of the product.

The blue pad works better than the red to me, this has been said by others also.

Glad you posted this, alot of people do not realize the pc is actually a wood sander, the 7336 was first to come out then they followed up with the 7424.

Today I worked on several areas and my process for this:
Total Swirl Remover on 5.5 Orange Pad then if it was necessary another pass with 6.5 White Pad, then Finishing Glaze on White Pad and for the LSP using 6.5 Blue Pad with the Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.
Each step I did with pressure to get more heat and working slow.
Overall, it came out pretty good but not perfect since some scratches really stubborn and cant take them out.
Do you think I am working good? any advice to work differently?
And about the Porter Cable, do you think I should get the Flex instead of the PC?

Thanks

You might have to go over cetain areas a couple times with the orange pad and the white pad. I would finish up the finishing glaze on a blue pad after using it on the white pad. Those would be my only suggestions at this time.

Do I need to work the Sealant like the Total Swirl remover and like the Finishing Glaze or just applying some on Blue Pad and spread on the section on speed 3?
I forgot to mention, I have Wolfgang Fuzion which I am planning to apply after I will finish all the car.
should I apply the Fuzion with the porter cable or just with the foam pad? how much time do I have to wait between the sealant and the Fuzion?

I prefer applying my lsp by hand on a foam pad, you can apply the lasp on the pc if that is what makes you feel comfortable.

I have decided to get the Flex with the Menzerna products and I am about to make my second order, hopefully today.
I am planning to get 3 6.5 orange CCS pads, 3 6.5 white and 3 6.5 blue pads for the Flex.
Any other suggestions? I heard somewhere on the edge adapter with the edge foam pads for the Flex.
