Polishing Principles DVD

When I was applying the final compound (DP sealant) I used a 5.5" Inch Red Soft Wax pad. The pad seemed to soak up the sealant, to where it was hardly leaving a layer of wax behind.

It sounds like you're using too much sealant?

There's a technique called "Kissing the finish" it should be explained here,

Tips and Techniques for using the PC 7424XP Dual Action Polisher to remove Below Surface Defects

And there's another technique listed in the above article for applying a wax or paint sealant by machine.

Also, a quality wax or paint sealant is going to be difficult to wash out of any pad because a quality wax and paint sealant should NOT be water soluble and many new waxes and sealants are also detergent resistant. If you think about it... if a wax or sealant washed out of your pad easily, that means they would wear off you car's paint easily.

This is a long article, it's probably one of the most in-depth articles I've ever written on how to use a DA Polisher and to date I've found no other article or even video that shares as much information on how to use a DA Polisher to remove swirls, polish paint, apply a wax or paint sealant and even remove a wax or paint sealant by machine.

But... you can't scan it... it needs to be read...
