I have aluminum wheels on my ranger and every winter i sand and polish them.

lol wow dude you need to invest in a coating. there are a lot of coatings on the market now that you wipe on after the wheel is corrected and once it cures, you have protection so you don't have to go through that refurb process every year. you have to make sure the wheel is surgically clean and free of contaminants from the correction process first, but that isn't hard to do. trust me, get a proper coating!

any of the Optimum coatings.

2.0, GC, Opti-Coat, whatever. all work on bare aluminum.

even stick to chrome.

probably others brands as well.

Put a magnet on the wheels. If it doesn't stick then the wheels are aluminum. If it does stick, then they have a steel substrate with chrome plating.

IMO the cone works a lot better and can get in the tighter spaces. The ball works well on large flat surface area wheels. You would only need the one coming as opposed to the large and small ball.

Well my stepfather says the holes in the wheels will tear up the cone trying to polish them.
