Simple poll, do you feel that a wax (carnauba) or sealant (synthetic wax) has the best look, for that Show Winning Appearance ??

Not looking for any other characteristics ....Feed back please

I'd have to go with carnauba waxes for the rich reflective depth left on the finish. Don't get me wrong I've seen some fantastic sealants, but they all lack that rich depth.

What's your feedback killr?

Wouldn't the color of the car have something to do about it:confused:

Yes, I love good sealants on white and carnaubas on red/black/green/blue, etc.

Ditto! BINGO! I agree! whatever... :)

Carnauba w/o a doubt, no sealant has the looks of NB/CG5050/Souv. I like the dark, deep, wet finishes.

Some of the new sealants are looking very good but the still don't quite match the look of a good nuba.

Actually not with me. Depth can make any color finish take your breathe away.
My wifes jeep is a metallic red. I usually use reflective product to make the chips pop, but occasionally I throw in some carnauba like Natty's Blue to give that deep pool look and man its a thing of beauty.

I go with the write in........Carnuba over over Sealant!

It is obvious that is is a carnauba wax. Sealant were designed with durability in mind.

I waited to answer as someone on another site thought the answers would be quite different.

I still believe that a carnauba product offers the best look. It is rich, it is wet, and it shows depth. No I dont believe color has anything to do with it, as most cars are clearcoated so we are working with a relatively translucent finish. I do believe waxes can contain different polymers and additives to control look, or enhance it.

Now that said, with a wife ready to burst, and our second son on the way. Detailing is very time consuming and I can live with the look of sealants. I just dont believe I could without using these great gloss sprays and other qder+ type products to add back in what seems missing. I will also agree that sealants are making great strides in looks, and moved away from being sterile and plastic in look.

In general, carnauba. But it really depends on the color.

well, for the sealant and white thing... souveran and SSII look awesome on my white pearl... the sealant is nice to have under it for the extra protection though...

For simply a show car........carnauba hands down. There is no replacement for it. I've really noticed this since using Souveran Paste.

Now for durability, no one can or should argue that a sealant wins here. The only thing is, most of use will re-wax our rides every month anyways so that blow the durability issue into orbit!

For a stricly show car neither a glaze would be my choice. For a great looking daily driver carnuaba.
