It's good to see that there are more in my age group than in the young-buck age groups! Us 40-somethings are leading the way...

you guys are OLD. ;)

Yeah, well, I do remember being young at one point and thinking how old 40 seemed, or for that matter, how old even 30 seemed to be. Aside from a little less stamina, little less hair, about the only real difference is that us old folk are much wiser than you young-bucks :D

Im 64, and because of arthritis I feel like 74. For tires, before Armor All we used floor wax . Before that we used a product called Ruglyde, it was a rubber lube that made the tires very black , but didnt last very long.

I'm 46 but my wife swears that i am mentaly 16 years old. One of my first detail jobs was on my first car a 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo using the Blue Corral(sp?) 2 step system and Pledge furniture polish on my tires and interior.

I am truly amazed at how many 40+ detailers are out there. It was my hope that this phase would wear off and I would finally commit to having someone else clean my cars !!!! I am deeply depressed .... guess I might need that Cyclo after all.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. I thought I was a old, tired detail fanatic.....seems there are lots older. I went through a "lazy" phase where I would take it to the local car wash for them to wash and vacuum the car, but after wasting my money several times I decided it would be good exercise for me to do it myself, plus I do a 200% better job to boot! Killr, maybe when we're 60 we'll be saying "I remember when we used to use that Souveran "crap" to wax our cars back in the day":D

By the way, who would YOU pay to detail your vehicle? Not many qualify...Maybe I'll have my kids trained by then;)
