Poll: Which Flex

Alright boys and girls...now that the sale is up, I'm VERY tempted to pick up a Flex. I currently use a PC3424XP but want something that can get the job done ALOT quicker than with my PC. I'm still somewhat of a noob and have never used a rotary before, but what I plan to do is go to the junk yard and pick up a couple of panels so I can practice on it. I would like to be able to make detailing a side/weekend gig, but I have a hard time being able to do that with the PC.

So my question is...which Flex, if I do get one...should I get...the 3401 or the PE14?

Here's a follow-up question...I know the 3401 is a DA but will it get the job done faster than a PC?

do you do cars other than your own? i've seen your acura...it looks flawless and i couldn't see how a flex could add anything more.

only asking cuz i'm looking for a reason to get one, but can't seem to come up with one since my cars only need minor corrections at most.

The MF system closed the gap between the traditional D/A and the rotary. It removes defects very quickly for a D/A. This was the original purpose of the Flex 3401 when it came out IMO. It closed the gap by removing the defects quicker via foam pads. I think that the MF system and the 3401 have the same purpose in trying to bridge that gap. The only difference is the polishing media. If you've already picked up the MF system and want to step up your game, I'd highly suggest picking up the PE14.

With the Club Flex Intro Kit!

You and Bob are going to push me over...but I don't think I'll be complaining. I still have alittle more time to debate.

I like my Flex 3401 and it's my primary dual action polisher for polishing.

My Porter Cable 7424 is a great machine and I now use it for applying sealants and waxes. I also use it for polishing with 4" pads.

If you really have your heart set on the 3401 then pull the trigger but a rotary should be in your future...

I don't necessarily have my heart set on the 3401....

If I get the PE14 I'd use the PC for those reason you stated. I love using the 4" pads to get the smaller areas. But for the rest of the car I'd use the PE-14.

Here, let me help you Alex!! :props:

I appreciate the complement. I would like to do other peoples cars for money. I don't mind taking the extra time with my car but I would like to be able to fully correct a "customers" car in atleast a weekend.

What I like to do is think of "worst case scenario" when it comes to thinking of the customer. If I get a car that someone wants to have fully corrected and I only have a day to get it done, I don't think I can achieve that with the PC. Granted I REALLY need to sit down and get a job done without taking breaks and lollygagging, but I still feel I need something to get it done faster.

I only do my truck and the wifes car....I had both the 6"and 3" GG....I kept reading about the Flex 3401 and when AG had the WG Flex kit on sale Christmas I broke down and let my wife buy it for me....:dblthumb2:

Can she buy me the PE-14?

Pulled the trigger...NOT gonna find another deal like this...atleast for a LONG time.

with the availability of the new backing plates for the 3401, it will be more versatile than before. now you should be able to tackle whatever comes your way...

I didn't get any pads yet, but I figured I would get the machine. The backing plate and bag helps to make the $303.99 pill alittle easier to swollow.

I DO feel better about being able to get a job done quicker.

Good choice Alex!!

Now can you buy me one too?? :D

I tell you what...when I make that one track that makes me rich...I'm buying EVERYONE Flex polishers. In the meantime you can come over anytime and use it. :dblthumb2:Im the MAN

I love my Flex 3401. It gets the job done faster than other DAs.

I just bought a PC for 4" pads and for sealant and waxes. Got it for $100.00 w/ sale yesterday.
