After washing my wife's DD last Saturday and applying XMT 360 followed by DP Poly-Coat, I couldn't wait to wash her car today.

After foaming the car with Gold Class Car Shampoo, I washed the car down with more GC blow drying the car and wiping it down. Initially, during the wash, I was worried that the soap had washed away the sealant already because the soapy water was sticking to the paint, but after rinsing, the water started sheeting away and was beading pretty nicely. I know it's only been one week, but I've used plenty of waxes/sealants where the beading/sheeting is noticeably weaker after the first wash. Poly-Coat showed not such signs. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I'll try and wash the car again next Saturday and check out the beading again.

Beading is not the best I've seen, but it's certainly not the worst. Overall, I would say Poly-Coat is definitely a keeper. Throw in the price point in which it occupies and you definitely have one of the better sealants on the market.

Here's a thought: Somebody should try a Poly-Coat/Wolfgang sealant combo. That should be a real stunner!

Interesting. Getting some of this myself - looking forward to trying it out! Im the MAN

Question: Does Poli-Coat seem more to sheet the water when rinsing or bead it?

When I was rinsing the car, it definitely seemed to be sheeting most of the water off like most sealants. When it stopped sheeting, I quickly took the pics before blowing the water off.

What's the best beading sealant you've used?

Zaino. Most of the water would sheet away, but when once it stopped sheeting, the little amount of water that was left beaded very tightly.

If you count Collinite (a hybrid), then I would say Collinite. Otherwise, NXT 2.0/M21. Had some nice beading with 3M Performance Finish as well, just never really cared for that product I guess.

Well, it's week #2 and I washed the wife's DD again. Procedure was the same as before. Took some pics again before final drying with MF towels. The water initially started sheeting again before the rest just started beading. Beading was exactly the same if not better. To my untrained eye, I could swear the beading has gotten just a little bit tighter. I am very impressed so far.

so after 2 regular hand washes (and foam cannons), you're still getting beading that good? wow...

And explain your comment on sheeting... you said it "sheeted" first, then beaded after you rinsed off? Do you mean you did the sheeting method, or do you mean you simply sprayed water and it sheeted instead of beaded??? (which is not good)

Looks good, thanks for taking the time to take pics and share with us.

As I was rinsing, most of the water sheeted off the car. The remaining water that did not beaded. Better than the first week, from my observation.

Wow, noticeable beading improvement! :xyxthumbs:

P.S. What kind of camera do you use? Nice pics..

I have a Canon 30D. I used it with a Canon EFS 17-85mm lens. I wanted to get better depth by using a smaller aperture, but it was cloudy and I couldn't get a fast enough shutter speed and I didn't have a tripod handy.

Well, it's week #3 and I just washed the wife's DD again.

1. foam gun filled with Gold Class Auto Shampoo
2. washed car with Gold Class
3. Blow dry with leaf blower
4. Dry with waffleweave towel

You'll notice I have no pics this time. I just didn't feel it was necessary because the sheeting and beading looked exactly the same as week #2. After three washes, the car is still beading like it was just waxed. Matt was right. It's definitely very detergent resistant.:dblthumb2:

Sweet! Glad I picked some of this up then. Looks like it's a keeper! :props:

It has definitely delivered the goods. I'm glad I picked up two bottles at DF 5. I hope they start selling it by the quart by the time I run out. It goes without saying that it's a definite buy if it were to go on the BOGO page.:righton:
