Poorboy's World Air Freshener Samples

How are you guys spraying it?

With the air freshener/scents I get at Wallyworld, I put a couple spritzes on the carpet behind the drivers seat and passenger seat. It usually lasts for a week+ when I do that.

If I just 'spray it around the car' the scent is gone in a day or two.

Once again, application is the key. If you're spraying it on the carpet, the chemical has something to temporarily bond to.

That's why I'm asking about the sprayer. I spray the carpet directly, as I don't want to get any chemicals on my leather seats. The floorboards up front, and behind the seats. Still doesn't last very long, or at least the leather scent doesn't for me. I haven't tried the others. I've even created a little freshener for under my seat (baby jar with cotton in it, and filled it with the air freshener). Still no real luck. Fades quickly.

Maybe you are just so adjusted to the smell that you don't notice it as much. Like you, I put air fresheners in my car and after a week or two I don't notice them anymore. Then I will have someone in my car and they mention the scent right away. I like your idea using a baby (food?) jar with cotton, I may use that!

That's why I brought it up. I didn't know if other folks were doing the same thing or just misting it into the air.

Are you using the sprayer that it ships with? I spray 3-4 sprays per side in my car every cleaning, and it only lasts about 24 hours (at the most). I usually give a quick spritz every other day because it fades so quickly. It smells nice, but does not last AT ALL.

I spray under the 2 front seats once and in the middle air vent

I spray onto the carpet in front of the front seats, and behind the fronts seats. Two trigger pulls to each area. The scent does not stay around long.

I would like to see them bottle some samples of the air fresheners!

I'd like to see samples so i can smell the product before getting a huge bottle of something i might not like.

The way our noses work you only adjust to a smell for the time your around it. So once your in the car for a little while your not gonna smell it anymore. When you come back after not being in the car for a while you should notice it if its still around. Your nose doesn't permanently adjust to a smell its temporary for the time your around it.

So the first time you get in your car each day you should smell it if the scent is lasting. Otherwise its probably faded imo.

If that makes any sense of your senses.

My wife will never get used to the smell of a Dutch oven.

I know what you mean, though. I've only bought one car brand new, and I had people telling me 5 years later that it had a new car smell in it. I definitely couldn't smell it, but everyone that got into the car for the first time, could.

I would go for a sample pack as I don't like thought of spending $11.99 plus shipping for a scent that may give me a massive headache. A pack of each scent in a 4oz spray bottle would be awesome.

It seems both my scents , Griots Leather Scent and Poorboys Green Apple, have changed lately. Could these products be suseptible to heat ??? (store in garage)

WOW ..what a tough crowd

I will look into making them in 16oz , but when a quart sells for $11.95 the 4oz samples would still be $5  (just the cost of making small bottles) and I'm not sure it would be worth the investment.

Please remember these are water-based and long lasting is not going to happen with water-based. They also don't stain carpet etc since they are water-based.

Oil-based would be long lasting, but there are a lot of risks when using them, especially for headliners and upholstery, that is why we decided on water-based.

We welcome you comments and recommendations :dblthumb2:

How about an option for both oil and water-based air fresheners?

How about a ~5 pack of ~4oz samples? I think that is what most of us are looking for... I figure the cost could be worth it on a multi pack. :hungry:

Thanks for commenting on this thread, it is truly appreciated! The way I look at it from a consumer perspective, if I like the sample well enough I will buy the 32oz bottle to save money in the long run. Also, water-based is smart because you have no idea who is using the product and what their background is. I'm fine with water-based but it looks like others may be interested in oil-based products. It truly is a gamble so maybe start out with a limited run? I understand the price difference too, but nothing is worse than spending more money on a full size product that you will never use again. If permitted, I may do a trial run on my own and provide feedback.

That is what I would by
a 4oz sample set of all the scents.

I guess you guys win !! Steve told me to order the labels for the 4oz sample sizes Im the MAN

It should be a few weeks before the labels are made :goodjob2:
