!-- I have terrible grammar. Deal with it --!
Well I got a sample of Super Slick and Suds with mu last order.
For months i have been using Meguiars Detailer Line - Shampoo Plus. Its wonderful, it does a great job and its cheap. But I love to try something new, Also i get samples of car wash because I sometimes include them as a gift to my more frequent or higher paying customers.
So I got this one to try out. For those of you just interested in the verdict. Buy the meguiars. Price no object, I still prefer the meguiars over this.
I am on a well system with additional filtration on my water sources for washing and everything else i use water for in detailing. the water is nice and soft, it can dry on black paint and leave little to no spots.
First impression:
Nice Sample, get almost twice the amount as the Wolfgang Sample i got a few weeks prior. The Scent is pleasing. It has a slight citrusy smell. I will talk about that later though.
My first use was on a GMC Crew Cab Dually. This vehicle is in need of wax and has no sealant on it. So I decided to try it on an un-waxed vehicle first. I find that waxes and sealants reduce the true sudsing action because they just run off the paint.
I was rather impressed with the results. it smelled great, didnt leave my hands feeling dry afterwards. The gloss left behind was good. Water did sit on the paint and glass, but as expected with a un-waxed vehicle. It did a good job cleaning tougher grime. Which got me wondering.
Next Test:
I washed my personal car. Which just had 3 coat of Klasse HG Sealant and followed up with p21s concours. The car then did a 1600 mile road rally to the Tail of the Dragon. I used some DP RWG while on the trip to keep up with the grime, which did a fantastic job. Regardless the car was covered with dust and bugs when i returned home. So I decided to use the Poorboys on it. The paint still felt like a buttered surface with that p21s on there. The gloss was simply amazing.
So i got to washing and was really struggling to get sudsing action on the paint. Which i sort of expected due to the layers of wax and sealant on the paint. I had a hard time getting the car wet (everything ran off!) Although i sort of expected it, i had much better results on a similar finish with Shampoo Plus.
Anyway, i continued to wash and again noticed it removing grime and oils rather easily. Which got me wondering how aggressive this stuff is. I also noticed that the paint didn't feel all that lubricated at least in comparison to Shampoo Plus or Wolfgang auto bathe.
Upon rinsing i again noticed not much sheeting, and the water sort of stuck to the glass. So i continued with drying and thats when i realized that it seemed to have all but removed the p21s. the paint felt dry. it was clean but didnt have that slippery feeling that the p21s leaves behind. Also it didnt have the depth that it had before i washed.
when i washed another car with the same finish with shampoo plus it did not remove it the car still felt very slippery even after two weeks of being outside and then a good washing.
So in conclusion, if you are looking for an excellent car wash. get meg's Shampoo Plus. its cheaper and works better.
The Shampoo plus made my jaw drop when i went to rinse, the water literally fell off the car and the glass looked fantastic. it didn't seem to do any noticeable removing of any wax layers.
Price no object, the meguiar's still earns a spot in my tool box.
The Poorboys is by no means a bad wash, and perhaps better for those looking to refinish their car.
Although if i am about to clay, compound, polish or anything like that to a car i mix up a solution of All pupose cleaner to wash the car with, my cleaner called Green Clean by Distinctive Details (im sure its almost identical to Megs APC+ or Body Solvent, it has the same dilution ratios) To wash the vehicles before that. Might be something to consider, because this process leaves you with a squeaky clean working surface free of oils and other contaminants
