Well, for $45.00, I was not going to pass it up. I've already fixed it to where it really will not come apart.

just saw today in my local kmart add they have a 14x14 instant up canopy for $129

to which my response would be

and if indeed it is smaller or the same as a 10X10 its not much of a deal!

Get an all ALUMINUM frame - they are 100 times easier to put up by yourself. I always carry four of those dense foam noodles for pools or pipe insulators. I split them and put them around the post. That way a door or movement of the awning will not allow the post to contact the vehicle and cause damage.
