Yeah its definitely ballsy to sand and buff edges but I'm a risk taker lol ... I used my Flex rotary with a 4 inch yellow foam compound pad for my edges and nooks ..All the rest of the car i did with a 6 inch white wool pad ( i know its for polishing but i like the light cut with wool and compound , makes it smooth and takes out tracers and other things ) then i follow up with an orange foam compound pad to take out the little bit of roughness left behind from wool , then i grab my Flex 3401 and remove the swirls and holograms with pinnacle advanced swirl remover , after that i polish it out with pinnacle advanced polish and finish it with Synergy and a purple super plush MF.. For compound i used a prototype Pinnacle compound that i received from Mike Phillips to try out ( that's all i can say ) ..sorry : )

Very impressed that you hand sanded it. How do you decide what gets machine sanded and what gets done by hand?

the respray is BC / CC ..i have no idea what paint line it was.
I don't use a gauge , call me crazy ...i like to live on the edge and take risks..lol..
being that im a painter as well i can usually tell whether or not the paint job has had a cut and buff and where potential thin spots are and the only way i learned that was to f$#k s*&t up .. lol :buffing:
And i dont machine sand anything its always hand sanded ..cant trust a machine to feel for me.
