Got the call a few months ago to correct a Porsche Boxster which proved to be quite a battle so figured I would share some photos.

The owner had recently picked up the car and knew it was in poor condition to say the least. Swirls, deep random scratches and overall dull finish. We agreed to a multi step paint correction with long lasting protection from Opti-Coat Pro (5yr warranty on all exterior paint).

Opti-Coat Pro is a Silicon Carbide coating (SiC) not Silicon Dioxide like many others on the market (SiO2). This means low maintenance over the life of the coating (no silica spray needed) and no drop in gloss through oxidation over time.

Did the usual wash / decon / clay routine, taped off the trim and got down to business.

Inspection under LED lighting.

I found this paint to be surprisingly hard. To get it right, I had no choice but to wet sand a bit in certain areas.

3000 grit machine dampsand
5000 grit machine dampsand

Shine Supply Flat Top + Flex PE Rotary + Lake Country Purple Wool

Shine Supply Classic Cut + Griots DA (Boss & GG6) + Megs MF Cutting pads

Opti-Coat Primer Polish + Griots DA + LC White

Before you make an omlette, you must break a few eggs.

50/50 Wetsand on the left / Finishing Polish remaining on the right

Did some final prep with Optimum Paint Prep and applied Opti-Coat Pro to all exterior paint, trim and wheel face

Nice job! That must have been some seriously tough paint.

Amazing turn around that Porsche is now a finer piece of art

Nice transformation! That Porsche looks drop dead gorgeous now.

That must have been some seriously hard paint that rotary and wool couldn't handle. Did you take paint readings throughout the surgery?

Beautiful job! You really added some much needed sparkle to that boxster.

Very hard paint. I really don't resort to sanding very often. It became of question of what was going to take less time and put less heat into the paint (as opposed to compounding it with the rotary multiple times)

I used my highline II meter to ensure there were healthy readings around the car as far as the paint depth goes.

That's just ridiculous....

Just the other day I was looking to pick up some Power Finish to try, because I remembered you used it on an Audi Q5's pillar. Was wondering how 'the gentleman from Long Island' (forgot your name, but remember your location) is doing...and here you are with an awesome showcase.

Nice job there Brian. Did you move to another garage?

Wow, that must of been some rock hard paint , you just didn't take out the guns, you took out the army tank, wet sanding, pe-14 and the foam wool !!!

You did a awesome job car looks fantastic how many hours in total did it take you with such hard paint

He should drive that car to the museum and park it forever.

Hey there. Yes indeed I did move. I'm 1 block over from the old place (moved over a year ago).

Welcome to stop by and check out whats going on. I'm a dealer for Shine Supply and would be happy to give you some samples to try out.

I think it was around 20 hours total between the initial prep, correction work and coating install.

Appreciate the comments everyone!

Beautiful job...although I find 99% of customers won't take care of it, and you removed a lot of clear for it to look gorgeous for a short amount of time.
