Nice pictures of the Cayenne

Do you have any Before shots or 50/50's?

Those are always more interesting to me

Also, what machine, products and techniques did you use to achieve these outstanding results?

Thanks,

Kyle

Rotary Polisher from Monza brand that belongs to Inter-Union Technohandel GmbH.
This is 230V 1200W machine, RPM from 500 to 3000, the backing plate is 180mm but with M14 size any pads can be applied, I mostly use 180mm & 150mm.
I also use Kress-Elektrik cordless screwdriver with polishing balls, 125mm pads, and various wool attachments for wheels, chrome, aluminium, metal, headlights & other precision works.
Also got Einhell rotary polisher but I use it very rare as it starts from 1000RPM & doesn't have a bottom control button that can be easily switched on/off during work.

I looked at FLEX PE 14 Series , Rupes, Festool Shinex RAP 150, C. & E. Fein WPO14-15 E , Eibenstock ELP 1300 for the future, some look very promising as they start from low RPM.
The big disadvantage for me is polishers that start at high speeds, I like to work at max. 1000 RPM or bit higher, but not like some pros turbo it with min. 1500 RPM & more.
I have seen many such works that are perfectly cut, hologram free (only at first look, holograms will come back soon as there is no such thing as anti-hologram polish for long preservation or protection, for exampe Berner Finish polish even write Anti-Hologram Effekt) but paint looks dead, sitting, slim, shine is minimized by such high speeds because the clear coat is simply removed in my opinion. The paint thickness is 1-1.4MM on new cars, but after 5-8Y some paint is as thick as below 1mm & even under 0.5MM I wonder what finish can be achieved with 1500 RPM or 2500 RPM?
This is what I think & made my opinion about it, I achieve hologram free finish (before sealing or hard wax is applied in the end) at lower speeds below 1000 RPM on most newer cars & few holograms or swirls can as well be polished out by hand with harder or medium hand applicator.
The totally 100% hologram free finish simply doesn't exist as such, explanations in the end.

Also I read from the pioneers of detailing industry that to polish & wax a car perfectly & correctly with polisher, how many pads should be used for each process, ex. polishing Intensive, Medium, Finish, Sealant or Wax? Let it be a quiz I was shocked when I read an answer.

Let everybody make their own decision about their work & process, products, tools etc. I made mine: Shine, Shine, Shine comes first, good quality products from A to Z, love for the cars, respect for the people & results will come superior, people who at first think about money, profits, business will never make cars shine naturally, they will Cut, Cut, Cut to impress at first but after few car washes the dream will evaporate, the poor damaged car paint with little or no 2 component clear coat will get oxidation, acid rain, emissions, UVA-UVB radiation, pollution, bird droppings, tree sap and this is the END.

I don't have before/after pics on all cars as some are made in the dark areas with no natural day light. The ones that I do outside (previous posts) got such working process shots. At the moment I use only Berner Polishing System (previous posts with links & pics) this Porsche was polished with machine by such a system.
Pads are from 3M White, Black, Blue, Orange, Green (Made in Germany I was surprised that 3M produce pads there, probably these are for German speaking countries) and other pads are also Made in Germany from small boutique manufacturer there is no name on them link: PolierschwämmeÂ#-Â#polierschwamm.info

Back to polishing machine, I think from mentioned above the most likely if I will need the 4th one, will be from Eibenstock.

"Elektrowerkzeuge Eibenstock im Erzgebirge, Qualitätswerkzeuge Made in Germany seit 1919"

P.S. The Quiz answer is that for each car's panel (door, hood, roof, fender, bumper etc.) you need to use new pad because each pad after ex. polishing the door, already got remains of paint, clear coat, aluminum metal, ceramic flakes in it & if you use the same pad on a next door, the damage will grow bigger & bigger each time, yes, this is some 0.001mm but at high speeds plus little pressure it will cut the paint again, so while some swirls & holograms are removed, the new ones are created.
I wonder how many people on AG use (ex. Polish, Finish, Sealant) 10 new pads for each step, total 30 pads per car? Answers are
:welcome:

That's why manufacturers such as Berner Group write on their Finish Polish with Sealant Anti-Hologram Effect. It's visual effect, no more.

That Porsche looks beautiful! Thanks for the pictures, the information and the answer to your quiz!

I'm still building my inventory. Reading posts like this is truly inspirational :)

Great information

I love to hear the details of the detail

So you ever use a dual-action polisher to eliminate holograms?

I highly recommend this Berner Polishing System video, all polishing process is explained such like Orange Peel & Dust Nibs, Single Stage Paint, Holograms, Clay Bar.
For holograms free polish look from 5.40 min. all video about 10 min.

I never have tried dual action polisher, only orbital.
Also when I polish the car, I make the same number of (left/right, bottom/top) moves over a chosen area. For example if I do some part of the hood, I start counting 123456789...seconds, then if I polish in another direction, the same 123456789... seconds
This way the paint looks natural & shiny & factory straight no swirls no holograms, I think that if polishing the car without counting the time of the process, the paint loses luster & top of the coating will look like a hill up & down, this way it will look while clean, but unnatural, that's what happens to most of the detailed cars when there is too much cutting & removal, too little logic
:buffing:
Nothing can look better than original factory paint on new cars, my mission is to keep it that way.
