Client’s brand new Touring. ‘But it’s a brand new car’. Yeah, full of holograms, scratches and swirls.

The ‘details’:

Adam’s shampoo, eco wheel cleaner, tire/rubber cleaner.
McKee’s37 iron remover.
Fine clay mitt.
Master blaster to dry.
DeFelsko PTG’s.
Scangrip lighting.
HF Hercules, Flex pixie.
LC pads.
Griot’s FCC, correcting and perfecting creams.
Optimum panel wipe.
Aquatek Singular coating.
Adam’s graphene tire dressing, glass cleaner, interior detailer.
Metro vacuum.

Thanks for looking!

If I bought one of those new and it wasn't perfect I'd be so disappointed, but then I can't see myself ever buying something like that new. But it does keep you in business.

It's the same colour as the one my neighbour had parked in his driveway a few weeks ago, the 2021 Carrera 4. It's actually one of their used cars for sale, only $289,900.

Me too, I guess the money goes into the mechanical package.

Apparently, examples ordered with the $25,000 Paint To Sample option are even worst. From memory, the bodyshell is removed from the line and painted on a separate line or facility.

Might be a ‘normal’ PTS vs the more expensive PTS Plus option: Paint your Porsche any colour you want with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur

Methinks I could find a ‘stock’ color to like but in for a penny, in for a pound at that level?

That's the one, PTS Plus. They price it so high almost like they want to discourage people from ticking that box, but a lot still go for it.

“Go Away” pricing that doesn’t actually make folks go away

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Big Dave: WOW! Pricing in Australia is insane! That car here is a, maybe, 100K car, but most likely less than that due to it being a base car and not an 'S' or anything. Wow!!

Very nice! That's always been my "I just won the lottery" car, even config'd one in Gentian Blue (with the manual, of course). Looks great.

It's called a "nuisance charge" in service-based industries. May or may not have used that on a couple of well deserving clients.

I feel like I got quoted something like that when I wanted to swap my current tyres back on to my original alloys, so remove 10 tyres from 10 rims, then put 5 back on and balance, they quoted me around $500.

Respectfully, the pricing everywhere for P cars is insane! I drove the GT3 at the Porsche Experience and while it is a great car, I don't think it is $300k amazing. But, I do not begrudge anyone for buying one. They are the only game in town for a naturally aspirated car of that quality and now that the E.U. has killed gas-burning cars, they will continue to hold or go up in value. These are the salad days of vehicles. In 10-years most of us are going to be forced into over-sized golf carts....
