I have a customer that wants me to detail her Panamera, the car is 6 months old and black, my question is what is everybodys experience with he clearcoat on these cars? I have never done a car of this high caliber. Any advice will be appreciated.

well hopefully the paint is in very good shape since it is not that old

I work on a lot of porches. In my experience, the clear had ben fairly hard. For light correction I use either menzerna p106 or p203 with a white pad for minor correction. A clean swirl free black porche is a thing of beauty. I would definitely make sure you bid your quote with enough time to CYA, then if it takes less time you can charge less. A rotory makes work a lot quicker. Hope this helps.

I have owned a 2010 Panamera and didn't find the paint difficult to work with at all. I had great success with the initial correction with the Flex 3401, white LC pad and Menzerna SIP followed by 85rd on black. Finished down flawless and was Opti-Coated.

The Panny is a lot of real estate to cover. Take your time and you will get it perfect. Another question is how will the client treat the car post correction. If she is taking it to the dealer for washes all of your hard work is wasted. Porsche dealers are no different than any other dealer. Volume vs quality. I highly recommend CQuartz or Opti Coat if she can afford it.

Take before and after pics, DK. Try and work out a maintenance schedule with her for repeat business and to ensure it stays nice. Of course, wait until it is all polished up. She won't be able to say no then. Good luck.

I also forgot to mention that it has a clear bra on it. What care should i take with it?

Mobile, your spelling error reminded me of a dumb blonde joke:

A blonde canvassed a wealthy neighborhood looking for odd jobs. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had anything for her to do.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"

"How about $50?"

The man agreed and told her the paint was in the garage. A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.

"You're finished already?" he asked.

"Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats." Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50.

"And by the way," the blonde added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."
