portable heater

I used a small propane drywall heater once in my 24x24 un-insulated garage, it was below freezing when I started and about 75 or so after about 30 minutes. I completely ruined the $5000.00 paintjob on my Corvette. Small "crow feet" appeared all over it.
Maybe the conditions were different but I would use extreme caution, I was sick at my stomach for months.

I was wondering ,if you heat your garage with the propane or cerosene heater. Will the smell get in your car or a customers car. You don't want that smell in your car! You will need an Ozone Generator if the odor gets inthe interior. Does anyone have or use the Ozone machines?
Very good question.
I don't have the problem with any of our vehicles with my kerosene heater. If you use a good grade of heating oil/kerosene, the odor is not terribly bad from the 15 or 20 minutes I run mine for the initial heating of the garage. Once I reach 50 to 60 degrees, I probably only need to run it about 5 or 10 minutes out of an hour to maintain a comfortable working temperature. No runny eyes or discomfort although there is a noticeable smell.
If you needed to run it more or less constantly, it might be a problem.

That would certainly ruin your day.
Any chance you had the heater blowing directly on the vehicle?
I have heated my garage from 30 to 60 lots of times with no problem.

No it was a squatty little thing that was maybe 3 feet tall, kind of like a chimney with a top on it, whatever I did it was obviously wrong, with my luck it was a once in a lifetime chain of events that led to it, the paint was pretty fresh maybe 4 or 5 months old. I honestly don't know what happened but I never tried it again.:(View attachment 3717

I use the two burner deal on top of a 20 lb LP tank, it heats my garage - (24x24 insulated ) up in about 15-30 minutes depending on how cold it's outside. I don't really notice a smell after a few minutes - maybe it takes a few to either, get use to it or for the heater to get up to temp. I've never noticed any smell in my clothes and I work out there for several hours at a time.
