I just had mine porter cable start smoking on me today after 3 mins of use on setting number six. I only used it a few times and got it in 12 31 2012 what the heck!
 
If you bought it from AG im sure they will take care of you.
 
Make sure your extension cords are the correct guage.
 
And make sure you had the washer on the backing pad.
 
thanks every one i checked all tho things and there good. i bought it at chemical guys.
 
Send them an email or call the CS. Definitely shouldn't be smoking.
