A few years back I purchased a Porter Cable Model 7335 from Meguiars. I was wondering is this equivalent to the PC 7424. Are the speed setting approxiamately the same on the dial? What is the size backing plate I should be using?

7335??? I know the 7336 is the same but I have never heard of the 7335?

Same thing. I use the same one from Meg's.

I use EDGE pads and adapter.

The 7335 is the same as the 7336. But the 7335 comes with 5" counterweight and the 5" hook and loop pad.

Yea, its the same thing. As ar as I know, it even has the same shape Meguiar's emble as the Porter Cable one, and even in the same location. No worries, as lot as it is DA and has 6 speeds, thumbs up!

I thought Megs represented it as the G100 ....

Yeah, that's Meg's number for the machine, just like they number their products.

My brother-in law has the 7336 which I believe is an older machine. we did a side by side comp. to my 7424, and the only thing we found was the 7336 had a 3.7 amp motor compared to a 4 amp motor for the 7424

I too use the 7336. I also encounter the same thing at speed 6. I contacted Porter Cable and they told me that it has something to do with the counterweight. Not for sure if thats the remedy, just thought i would pass this along

I know this is an old thread im digging up, but I just got this 7335 from a neighbors garage sale(free) an Im using it with my carpet brushes as a dedicated unit.

I like it seems a bit fatter than the HF but about like a GG.

I believe that's the same thing as the first gen 7424.

I have one that I use for everything from compounding, to polishing, to sealing, to scrubbing. I can also sand with it of need be.
