Porter Cable 7424XP Smoking

Anybody have a similar experience with the porter cable smoking after a little use.

I am using a 5 inch backing plate with lake county 6.5 foam pads.

I have noticed when using the Porter-Cable 7424xp you tend to one-hand the machine as if it were a palm sander. Doing so, you are covering the inlet slots that are there to cool the motor. I have caught myself in this situation several times. No smoke from mine, but you just might want to remember this as a precaution.

Use a heavy extension cord or you'll have problem with your PC overheating and premature failure. .
