Porter Cable and Color Sanding

Yes the wool pad will not work with the da polisher to remove fine sanding marks like the 3000 grit your going to need the Meg's microfiber cutting disc and 105 or 101 to remove the marks completely.

Ok gotcha. Well for now I'll have to work without cutting.

To bring out the other cars paint. Those just need. Buffing, polishing, and wax because of oxidation.

I'll have to wait to color sand her car because of the orange peel. until I can get the microfiber cutting disk and the 101 and 105

All these additional steps, cos I will be using a DA not a polisher could be a blessing in disguise. Since I am working on other peoples car. Going to such a fine grit should minimize chances of error.

Thanks a lot guys and I'll be sure to post pictures.

Art, have you finished the car yet? Would love to see the before and after pics :)

Would have replied sooner but still learning how to navigate AG through phone.

Her car has a bit of clear coat failure eh. The rest of the paint looks great!

From the CC that is left, did I prevent further CC failure?

That would be a good marketing tool. For potential customers.

Your car looks great just how it sits. Must be starting to get hot down there is it? I remember driving BIG rig in CA and things started to go brown at the end of April.

Does it matter? It shows that no matter what you drive it can look good. Shows real pride is what i think.

Yeah all I was doing was testing out my new equipment. I new I could bring back the CC that was left. While others suggested they wouldnt even dare touch it i knew i could do something to it. View attachment 17666

The hood and fenders just got painted,
on my car, So that is buffed out, the side doors, roof, quarter panels, back are covered in swirl marks and very rough to the touch.

So will be getting the Auto Scrub, besides that I have all the tools, to make the whole car shine,

No not hot at all, i worked in Perris,CA was like 110 and up degrees now that's hot over here it's been 90 degrees

90 degrees I WISH! I got snow yesturday. Been the coldest spring since 1975 they say. I miss CA!

The reason I am asking, when I see a car like this, can I tell the owner that they should have the paint corrected so it doesn't have CC failure like the green car did. I know it's more than just shining it up.

Yeah my AG shopping is going to slow down a bit, cos I am looking for a condo with a garage so I can work any time during the day.

that is the work I am trying to sell. I know it's not in high demand but it is out there just have to find it.

Paint Correction.

I dont see why not. Any protection is better than gone. Only thing you got to worry about is, will the clear coat fail from bad paint job or from UV damage. You cant do anything about à bad paint job but protecting the paint from UV damage we can do.

Trying to sell paint correction is hard. I had à swirled black truck in my shop over the weekend. Has wife did not understand correction at all and was upset the truck was here. After the job i think She may have changed Her tone a bit.

I would be in a Niche Market, so i would probably have t go though somebody.
My friend at the Auto Body shop down the street saw the green car (he knows that I used to work at an Auto Body shop) well he saw the work and said it looks really good. (What CC is left) He said i'll shoot customers your way.

He suggested I make business cards as well. He said they work really good.

I am thinking of going to The Pomona Swap Meet Auto Show and going around looking for bugs and novas (single stage paint) those people that cant afford a $2000 paint job. And just becoming established as the go to paint corrector.
