After reading threads and recommendations from this forum, I picked up a bottle of Ultimate Quik Wax to replace my crappy NXT spray wax. I love UQW. It goes on like a quick detailer and leaves a nice shine and incredible water beading.

With the knowledge that many Meguiars consumer products have a nearly identical professional product which can be more cost effective to buy I wrote Meguiars asking what product is most like UQW.

I prefaced my letter with my sorta standard car care ritual and my poor experience with NXT spray wax which led to me trying UQW. My intention was not to get anything except an answer to my question. I got my answer, but also an apology about my product experience and an offer of a refund. I asked could I get another bottle of UQW instead and the Meguiars rep said no problem. It should be on the way.

Its great that a company like Meguiars stands behind their products and takes the satisfaction of their customers very seriously. I am also always impressed that I get rather prompt accurate personal responses to inquiries I make on their website. Meguiars and Autogeek, a great partnership!

BTW, the answer was Detailer Synthetic X-press spray wax is virtually identical to UQW.

yep meguiars has great customer service and tim larson is great at his job, i had an issue of some normal quik wax i got from a discount store that was really old i guess and they are replacing it with a product of my choice, i chose some ultimate black protectant.

I think UQW is one of the most under-rated products in the Megs line. Its one of the few products that can be applied in direct sun, or 30 degree temps during a cold winter day. It also has an uncanny ability to "fill" in those small spider web swirls which is an added benefit that you won't read much about. Never streaks, and yes, it really does shed water like crazy.

Just another reason Meguiars is always my first choice when looking for car care products..even with all the boutique and designer products out there, its hard to beat the total package that Meguiars provides!

They have excellent customer service. When I first purchased their Ultimate quick detailer. I used it on my entire car and I ended up dropping it about 2 feet and the whole top exploded and most of it spilled out. I emailed them and explained what happened and I recieved another bottle a few days later.
I still use ultimate quick detailer and I now use ultimate quick wax as well.

I have to agree with John! the Pro series gallon is cheap compared to OTC Ultimate.

That's awesome, I love my Meguiar's products. Though, I can't believe I'm switching alot of my stuff to Griot's (soap, qd, wheel and glass), though I will keep a stock of Meg's UQD, UIDQ, NXT Tire on hand, and will stick with the #105\205\21 combo.

Which AG still doesn't have in stock, though it's now available at other stores - why no stock AG? :(

D156 is great stuff - I always follow up my maintenance washes with it.

Adding on to the benefits of UQW / D156 is that it works really well as an exterior plastic/vinyl treatment too. It doesn't run down the side of the paint in the rain and lasts for weeks. Nice dark satin sheen. I use this on all of the exterior of my vehicles, paint, glass, vinyl and chrome on a weekly basis.

It also imparts a RainX like treatment to glass. It makes glass sparkle and without any streaks. My wife grabbed it when her glass cleaner ran out and used it around the house on mirrors, glass and appliances and now she wants her own bottle.

Her comments; "It makes the glass so slippery that nothing sticks to it. I can now clean the glass and mirrors with a dry microfiber to just wipe off the dust." This is the second product she has caused me to have to hunt for when it is missing from my garage. LOL

I absolutely love this product.

About 3/4 of everything I have is Meguiar's, been using it for about 7 years now and they have never let me down. :xyxthumbs:

Meguiars is great in every aspect I can think of. Their detailer products are great for the cost. To continue with everyone else, their UQW/UQD are both AWESOME products you can pickup anywhere. My next plan is to get some D156 and try that out. I'm excited to see next years products from them, they always seam to innovate what we thought was mastered.

I always loved the way Meguiar's products work. They are easy and usually focus only on what a customer would ask for. Like my experience with Nxt2.0 wax. It wasn't that long lived in durability department but being such an easy product you can apply it every month. And swirl filling is its best horse in the stable :) I never need a filler glaze under a Megs consumer wax. Now with my further experience with spray products and seeing how unimportant the durability of a wax is, while you can refresh it within seconds, I find the Ultimate range more than brilliant. Got the complete range from shampoo to QD, polish to wax. I also love their prices here in Turkey.

According to some people, the durability of Meguiar's LSP's (except #16) is its Achilles Heel. The waxes and sealants look good though. Other products are of good to great quality. The products are generally cheap too (Except in the Philippines. :D)

I too am sold on meguiar's product's, have used them on my car's since I was about 17, love the ease of application and removal on their waxes and polishes, love the ultimate product's line!!!:xyxthumbs:
