Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

Waterless every 3 days, doesn't that get expensive compared to rinseless?

It can, but ONR can be diluted to be used as a waterless wash. UWW+ also stretches out quite a bit as well.

I liked Opti-Clean as a waterless as well, but not as much as UWW+.

DP waterless wash I did not care for...

This is the nice thing about the meet, people have questions and there's going to be someone there to answer it inperson, by showing and doing, this is what the meet is all about! I too will be watching the waterless wash as well, I understand the concept and how its "kinda" like rinseless in the application but I do wanna see it work inperson, nice to have options for sure.

I use UWW+ Concentrate for my waterless washes - comes out to about 38 cents per wash.

Ok, so it turns out 34° is to cold for a standard 2 bucket wash

When its in the mid 30's to even upper 30's I've found that its harder to dry and sometimes leaves a film of some kind when its cool out, a sunny day when its in this temp range is a must at the very least.

Not going to be doing too many rinseless washes this week, we've got a cold snap this week, some will call it Polar Vortex but I refuse to do it, one day with a high of 8 doesn't count, especially after what we've been through this year. This extended cold weather is why its such a great idea to have our meet May 18th, better to be safe than sorry!

Yes, and No..it depends really...

For the amount of water i will use for two 5 gallon buckets, plus towels, time, ONR, it is better for me to do a waterless.

I know that the Pinnacle waterless is expensive, but my weapon of choice is Chemical Guys Ecosmart RU. For a 128oz it is under $30 dollars and i get several washes out of it. I do have to use ONR for windows though as the Ecosmart RU isn't so great on them IMO.

I did 2 bucket system with warm water from inside, wash was fine the problem was the rinse water would freeze before I could dry it all off.

I'm an hour or more from there actually, towards Indiana.

Oh I've got you mixed up with someone else with a similar screen name, glad your looking to come out, we all deserve a great day and it will be!

Putting this on my calendar. I can take off in any area I visit and I'm in the Windy weekly.
Nearby parking for an 18?

I just want to let you guys know whom are going to attend that I will soon make a seperate thread that's just going to have the list for those going and what they plan on donating. I should also say that there is NO pressure to bring anything to donate, those who can will and those who can't can't, its no biggie. We should be getting a couple items from Forrest@Mother's as well, plus IIRC Genesis is donating a machine for us and I've got an idea to whom I think should get that but I'll mention it to him and see what he says about that.

I will try and get that thread up and going soon, this what we've got a clean reference for the who and what.

Glad to see more people coming by to the event and as far as parking for a big rig goes, well, its in business area and its Sunday, I don' see a problem.....Jeff?

UUHHHHHHH....Wut..jk Yes :)

And as far as parking for an 18, when i google'd the area it was an industrial park like setting, but i am not quite sure on the turn-around point (whether it is wide enough)

Just a little weekend reminder while you looking out the window and dreaming about it turning green outside to add your name to the list in the new thread I made, link is above, thank you.

Would love to attend, Woodstock is a bit of a haul though...But maybe I'll make it. I am totally green to car detailing but just got a new vehicle and want to take care of it. I'm thinking I'd learn more on May 18th than in a year reading these threads. Pic below.

Couple questions...

1) where can I get 303 aerospace? I bought it online 10yrs ago. Cant find it anywhere SW burbs...
2) what do the terms LSP and ISP mean? i gather the P is for polish...
