Post closings Admins

I would like to see the Admins close old posts as far as contests and give aways.Seems like alot of new guys like to post in those without even reading that the give aways are all ready over.Just a thought

And when people reply to someones post that has a lot of pictures, and just click reply without removing all the pictures first, if they could remove the excess pictures in the reply as it's very annoying scrolling again through 20 pictures you've **JUST** seen to read the replies on the rest of the post.
 
I think they like to leave them up so that new comers can see how much they giveaway and how often they offer specials. It probably helps to get people really involved with the site and auto detailing. Just a thought.
 
As a Moderator of another Site... a Thread can be "Locked" so that it can still be viewed, but no more posts can be added.

For the OP... to "Close" a thread, you meant "Lock", right ?

I'm sure the Admins of AGO know about "Locking a Thread" already.

As Forum Members, we also have to ability to "unsubscribe from a thread" as well, if you don't wish to be bothered by it, anymore. That feature shows up in the e-mail notifications that we get from AG-O.
 
If they don't close the thread at least they could edit the first post with big red letters that the giveaway is OVER and has ENDED.
 
Just so they know you guys aren't the only ones, I agree.

Plus, for the ones that didn't read the entire thread in the first place, they have no clue that they aren't ever going to win it (since it is over), and they may get the mindset of "they never drew the names after I posted, it's a sham."

Actually I have been trying to close them after its over lately since I see with the influx of new members we are seeing them come back to life. I will try to take some time today and go and find all of them and close them.

I just went and closed a bunch of them, will get more tonight, but that should hold them off for awhile! :xyxthumbs:

Finally a post i made people agree with.Thanks Megan you have earned another round of cookies.:dblthumb2:Hopefully there will be some more open garages and i'm free to make the trip up.
