Post pics of your favorite road to drive

Fun idea for a thread Yancy :props:
Your mom has some mad skillz! Anyone who has even watched those jeep crawls or been on one knows there is a tremendous level of skill involved.

Hwy 550 was/is one of my favorite roads to drive. I think of the area around Durango as one of the most beautiful areas in the USA. I spent most of my life in Colorado and anytime you want a fun road to drive, you just needed to head west (at least if you lived in/around Denver).

I found the Corvette was too large for the Dragon, that and the place was also crawling with LEOs so it was not near the fun I thought it might be. Now taking a motorcycle on it, that would be a blast.

^^^ There are alot of cops out there on Saturday's for sure, that's why a number of the guys from our group have been coming out on Wednesday and then having Thursday to go out there and there's very little traffic, something I was going to do this year but a job change changed that for sure, so I'll be going Thur-Sunday. I agree, a C6 is a bit large for the Dragon but not for the Skyway, did you check out that road in your Corvette?

I plan on taking a year off of going to the Dragon and heading out west and running route 550 but I've got a 122 (127hp)/128 (135 ft/lbs of torque) Honda CR-Z, so when that thing gets up around the 10k elevation level, well, I may need to open the door and push it with my leg, LOL. I saw the show on cable about the "Million Dollar Highway" and was instantly hooked, those sections w/o a guardrail are surely going to command MUCH RESPECT! The view there looks breath-taking for sure, can't wait to drive that road in the future!

I've been there many times. Great view.

Since I'm also a Train Buff, I occasionally follow the NYS&W route that borders NY & PA

I feel like I am missing out after looking through this thread. Anyone know of some fun roads in San Diego?

My Altima would love a workout.

++++ On the Dragon and Skyway!

Funny that after I started this thread Cadillac started a series of commercials doing the same thing. That road in China carved out in a cliff is intense!

Top Gear was pretty close to the Dragon and Skyway when they ran the Blue Ridge Parkway, but they need to come back and run the roads with the locals and film it so it doesn't look like any speed limits were broken. My buddy told me I hit 65 mph a couple times on the Dragon in my 07' Mini Cooper S and I was nowhere near out of shape with the car and being dangerous, so its possible to "have fun" without being a road hazard out there, this I know! Its only 64 days till our run as of today!

Hey Yancy I've got an idea for you, make the trip up with the FLA guys and make it a business trip, promote the site, pass out samples, answer questions, etc:props: I can see it now, double wash buckets, towels, clean cars, banners, pictures and get this, do a magnetic sign on the side of your car with the Auto Geek logo, all the photosites out there, good pub for the site, especially here killboy.com photos - The Original Photographer from US129 Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap

Our location is booked solid, but there's other places to stay, some close and some about 70 miles away on the other side of the Cherahola, like here Caney Creek Village in Tellico Plains, Tennessee

Oh yeah, its 63 as of today, sorry manIm the MAN

15 days to go till our 10th annual Fall Dragon run, there's still room for someone looking to go, we've got 2 locations, one where the Cherahola Skyway starts and one 10 miles away from where the Dragon tail ends, just sayin'.
