I never tried FK because I heard it can be hard to remove. I try to go with products that are almost universally reviewed as positive.
Sadly, after Frank D'Amato died, his wife, although a secretary at his company (a miserable one at that) had little desire to keep the company running.
His employees tried, they had a down time of 2-3 months, guessing, and trying to make his formulations, which many I understand were on small snippets of notebook paper.
Sadly, it folded about 6 months later, and the Illinois company who now somehow owns this name, doesn't know a shred about Frank, nor any of his breakthrough world class products.
Cow Fat, you folks ever hear of such? Frank used to tell me many of his waxes contained Cow Fat?! Don't ask me what this was, where he got it, and how, and how much of it was used in his waxes? I have no idea?
His most famous waxes were called "Jelly Wax". About the consistency of a thick Mayonaisse, heavily laden with Carnauba Flake. I used to watch him make many of his waxes, and other products.
Most his waxes were scented, usually 90% of the time with a perfume called "Clean And Fresh". We'd buy this fragrance by the 5 gallon jugs.
I've got 1 oz of this stuff left. Would last for weeks. A scent like you never smelled, and walking into Nu Look was like taking some good drug, you were intoxicated within 50ft of the front door.
Hope you folks haven't minded me sharing some wax history with you.
Wax, and detailing truly is an intoxicating hobby. Why do you think Mike P, and the rest of us are so in love with what we do, and enjoy!?
Happy New Year folks! Mark
I also got FK Pink on the BOGO deal, it is not hard to remove at all and is a very nice product. All of the reviews I've read state that FK high temp is hard to remove. I love the petrol smell of the Pink paste.
