Dear Friends

I took my son to an indoor playground this afternoon. When we returned to our van, we noticed it'd been raining, so I took this quick picture with our iPhone.

This beading is from Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant and Blackfire Midnight Sun paste wax.

The wax is six weeks old.

Damn, and I can't get MPL to last but a few weeks on my paint in Florida. Last time I used that stuff, I applied it by machine, let it dry for maybe a half hour, buffed it off, came back the next day after a quick rinse, applied another coat, let it dry a half hour, buffed it all off, didn't touch the paint for a whole week until the next car wash. During that time, I drove through some crazy rain and greasy, grimy roads, and the water did not bead one bit on the paint. After I saw that, I switched to 3M Performance Finish, just one coat, and it is still beading after 2 weeks of grime and junk from the wet roads. Going to try Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax this weekend, mostly because I use Meg's D156 when I dry the paint and as a touch up for my LSP. Hopefully it'll work out.

Posting pix for the first time...thanks for the tutorial Mike!

We got the first rain in quite a while, so I was able to get a good look at the beading action.

This is the hood of my Mazda3 with the Klasse Twins applied about four months ago and Sonus Glanz applied three weeks ago.

Old school stuff... One Grand Blitz Carnauba Wax on the hood (bonnet) of a Subaru Outback. The wax was applied about two weeks before this photo.

I loved that stuff and it always looked great. It made my silver car glow like nothing else. I had to move on to sealants as it just wasn't durable enough for my climate.

This is interesting. My car was just washed with P21S soap, and I was noticing how little water was left on the surface compared to other car wash soaps after rinsing. Something in the P21S soap seems to sheet the water off pretty well, making drying easier. LSP is Capture the Rapture.

Just realized how hard it is to capture beads on a white car..
Here's duragloss 111 beads.

SWEET! I've been curious about the "sheeting" shampoos such as Shampol and P21S. So It's not just marketing hype?
