Post Your Unpacking Pictures

Oy vey

And the USPS just keeps sinking deeper into the red despite prices going up and up

And every newly appointed director has a plan and a vision to turn it around

I will stop there before I start a pie fight

Australia Post has been having similar issues. Last financial year they had a $200 million loss, but they made some changes, focusing on their parcel delivery service, reducing letter delivery to 2 or 3 times a week, and so far they're $33 million in the black for this year.

Somewhere I have a roll of "forever" stamps stashed away. If I hold on to them long enough they might become a major portion of my retirement portfolio. :D

Why does the man in charge of that organization need to be paid $2.39 million + bonuses every year? And they wonder why they don't make money?

So true, they should promote from within, someone who has worked their way through the business, and understands how the business runs, and what needs to be done.

Although I have more of this on a larger slow boat order from ADS, I needed a filler for the boss’s Amazon order so why not…

Um...how come nobody told me that Armour is selling (some of their) stuff on Amazon?

The bottle costs $17.99 direct from ADS and $19.99 from Amazon

"Free" shipping ain't free

But for me it is an acceptable tradeoff

I see a $1 coupon and the option to subscribe & save. Could be $16-17. I frequently do S&S and then just cancel it after it arrives.

The gallon from Amazon is $5 more than direct from ADS but the shipping is much cheaper, despite actually being shipped from ADS, so there is a net savings ordering it from Amazon

Restocking some favorites, the wheel coating will go on my new Mustang.

The weighted filters will go on my MTM foam cannons.

Gotta love that "review your address and make sure it's correct" admonition. Like, yeah thanks, I wasn't sure where I lived!

For the first 6-8 months after we bought the house last year there were a LOT of businesses that wouldn't recognize our address as a legitimate address

Despite getting mail it took the USPS several months to update their system

One business I actually talked to said it costs them to update their address database so they only do it twice a year and some smaller businesses only do it annually

I had to have stuff sent to my son at our old address in some cases

In this case, MTM simply doesn't ship to Alaska

The Rag Company doesn't either

Adams didn't and I haven't bothered to see if that has changed

I guess they think we don't detail our igloos

I once encountered a site that wouldn't accept my zip code - 60601. Like, you really can't get any more Chicago than that, it would be like not recognizing area code 312. I figured if their system was that stupid it didn't bode well for future interactions so took my business elsewhere.

It still boggles my mind how I can buy things direct from the manufacturer in China (usually custom keyboards, one of my other hobbies, based or made in Shanghai or Hong Kong) and DHL has it my on my doorstep in 2-3 days when domestic shippers can take 3-5 to deliver something a few cities over.

Of course things from Aliexpress take longer but that shipping is usually in the $5-10 range versus the $30-40 is costs to ship a custom keyboard or audio stuff. That still seems cheap when the keyboard shipping weight can be close to or over 10lbs.

I just tried the DIY website, put in my street address, etc; it came back and said I needed to check the address because they don't deliver to PO Boxes...
