Have any of you installed power door locks? If so I would like to know what brand and your opinon on it. I am looking at the Autoloc and a kit from A1 electric. With all the car buffs here I would think someone has tried this.

I installed power locks, windows and keyless entry on my old chevy cobalt. I used this Universal Power Door Lock Kit (2 Door)-2 Door Lock Kits

Everything is pretty straight foward, find a mounting spot for the actuator on the door then bend the rod right to connect the actuator to the door lock rod. After that its just running wires. Just don't order a keyless entry system from them. I got a viper, I originally got one from them but it was crap unlocked and locked randomly I pulled it after a couple of days.

Btw this system is a central locking, you lock one door the other one locks, no switch with it. You can pick up one if you want it's about the same as wiring up a keyless. Just one thing you will need to solder the switch or keyless(if you choose to add these now or later) to the power lock control module circuit board. It's really easy I can pull out some old pictures if you need it.

I think you will like the Auto-Loc system . It is top of the line and they have add ons to go with the lock ,alarms and many other funcntions .

And in this one is the control module on top with the wiring harness its just snap in. Although I did not have enough wire on one side so I had to extend it.

And this is the circuit board of the control module, in red are the two connections you need to solder in for keyless or a lock button

And the control modules in the car

I had them installed on the car for about a year and a half before I sold the car, no problems at all
