For those of you who have used these two compounds, which provides more cut (using wool) ?

I've used m105, but dusting is a big issue for me. (This will be used for wetsanding btw)

thanks guys!

If you are worried about dusting, PowerGloss is not the compound for you. How about FG400?

I will comment on FG400. It works wonders let me tell you that. I was able to remove I believe 1200 or 1500 grit sanding marks using my da polisher with it. I also used it on my car for the compounding step. Amazing. It def worth it. Plus FG has diminishing abrasives, so you can work the product more without reading applying product. Saves money.

Thank you for that input, i was hesitant to pull the trigger on it.. only because of price. What does the cut of FG compare to?

Idk if I was using it wrong but I got a TON of dust with M100. It does cut well though.

M100 should not dust too bad with a DA.

- Don't use too much product

- Try speed 4.5 to 5

- Clean pad on the fly between sections

- Don't over work it (4-5 passes max)

So far the only product I've found FG400 to be comparable to would be Sonax PF which is also on the higher end of the pricing scale.

Sonax PF is NOT equivalent to Menzerna FG400; Sonax Cutmax is but only better.

I used to use M105 quite a bit, but have switched happily to FG400. Less dust, more forgiving to use, and much easier to remove. Just too bad it smells so strong.

I'll try m100, i'm using a rotary.. should cut fast?

Also, what wool pad do you guys recommend? This is for cutting bodyshop clear

In what way is it better? I am curious as it is coming from someone who seems to use a lot of menzerna.

Sonax PF = Menzerna PF2500 on paper (Menzerna SF4000 in reality)
Sonax Cut & Finish = Menzerna FG400 on paper (Menzerna PF2500 in reality)
Haven't tried Cut Max yet.

Please use them on several paint types, with a few different pads before comparing them. Polishes on paper and polishes on paint behave very differently.

I've heard of paper pushers, but never paper polishers :p
