It was a one time thing for the class, but I believe he said if the demand was there and he could cover his costs and make it worth his time, he'd consider making more. People just need to let him know they're interested. ;)

:xyxthumbs: Rupes, come on. I already got the 21 and 15 along with all the other Rupes pad and polishes. $1200 I already spent on Rupes. I'm not going to spend another $950 to buy the other 2 polishers.

I read the whole thread this morning and it looks like the only good business strategy is being used by AG. Now they can gauge how many kits to order from this company. Based on what I read and including me, they may already have enough with the demo models.

I may have bought the mini for $200 or less but the kit and the price make this a permanent pass for me.

AG has nothing to do with it, Rupes dictates the price and how their distributors go to market. No diffeent than many other manufacturers. I'm sure that AG is relaying this feedback to Rupes. They most likely can't comment on prices, distribution rules etc. No need for you to call them out.

The pricing is directly from the manufacturer - we don't have any control over it.

That being said, both machines will be available individually by the first quarter of 2014. Until then, the kits are the only option.

If you have a question regarding either machine or kit, and need an immediate response, the best thing to do is pick up the phone and call us. 1-800-869-3011

For what they are, the kits are a pretty good value. When the machines are available individually, we expect the pricing to be very competitive.
 
^ Yep rupes buffers never go on sale for the same reason. When ever there is a sale that means that AG is giving it to us out of their profit. Ask and you will receive, nice timing on the reply nick! Good customer service here at AG.
 
Not trying to offend anyone, but i am just saying.
A lil more feedback won't hurt, such as saying "we will let the manufacture know hows the consumers are reacting or something" THAT is better than just "pre order available"
 
If they were $200 bucks I would have pre-ordered one just because they were new and cool. To be honest, now I realize I have no need for this thing and the other machines I have work fine with smaller pads.

Maybe if I was starting from scratch.

While AG doesn't have any direct control over the pricing set by the manufacturer, as a distributor, AG is the eyes and ears for the manufacturer in the retail market. I think the expectation by the forum members here is that he climate of the market (the comments expressed here) will be communicated back to Rupes by AG.

The reality is that Rupes has already determined the price for the machines. Good business practices dictate this has already been done as they cannot not put a kit together and set the price of the kit if they did not already determine the price of the parts contained within the kit. All Rupes has to do is release the pricing for the machines and people will either be lining up or walking away. This is the only way they can truly determine the market potential for the machines.

As I already said in my previous post, Rupes is hiding the price of the machine in the kit is just a move to take advantage of consumers who just 'have to have it now' and claiming 'value' in the kit to get as much ROI as they can right out of the gate. They will then either release the machines at competitive, low-margin pricing or the machine prices will simply not be competitive.

If their plan was to sell kits, wait for all the positive feedback to come in and generate more sales and set the machine pricing as high as possible to exploit the feedback, they are setting themselves up to fail. Those who want their pads and polishes already purchased them to go along with their 15s and 21s and most who did aren't interested in another kit. I highly doubt the kits will be flying off the shelves, but the machines will easily outsell the kits, if priced competively.

So far the feedback in this thread has been negative based on the price and how they packaged the new machines but I wouldn't be surprised if they still sell their quota. So far there are 77 replies in this thread (maybe from 50+ members). I'm not sure how many members in all are apart of AGO but there are est. 1700 active at this moment (including guests). Who knows how many non members shop at AGO as well. So those who have posted are a slim percentage of the community. There are still plenty of people with money in their pocket to burn. So just cause those who have posted aren't to thrilled on the price, there might be plenty pre-ordering the kits because they want them and can afford them. But we don't see pre order sales or sales numbers so who knows how it does sell. I won't be picking up a kit because its a purchase I can't afford to make right now nor really need for my detailing. Although I think the Rupes mini would be a great upgrade over my GG3.

I agree with the members in this thread that the machines will sell better individually. Based on the response from AG it looks like in 2014 that will be happening. So those who want to spend less have to wait. But don't think there aren't people out there that can afford $450-$500 toys.

Rupes closely follows our forum (along with several other manufacturers), so I wouldn't be surprised if they expedite the plans to sell the machines by themselves.
