Premier Auto Detailing by Evan: Audi A3 PPF Removal, Full Polish, Opti-Coat & Xpel PPF

Great work on the Audi Evan. I'm very impressed with the results. I'm currently waiting for my brand new black car to arrive and I'm trying to put Opti-Coat 2.0 on and also get Suntek PPF applied couple weeks later. I really wish there was someone local in twin cities that would do both of these for reasonable price.

Thanks. The reason I am able to do both is that I have been teaming up with a guy who does PPF installs and we have been doing some great team work. I have been coming in and doing the detailing and coating then he is doing his magic with the clear bra and it has been working out great for the both of us and ultimately the customer as well.

Did you have any issue doing the Opti-Coat in cold weather?
None as of yet

What was the temperature in your garage when you applied the Opti-Coat? I was told that panels need to be at least 50 degrees otherwise it will take much longer to bond.
The temperature would be around 60 degrees

Since I'm attempting to do this on my own cold temperature in my garage will be one of the challenges.

If your can't get the temp above 50 then I would hold off. You want to make sure you have the best bonding as possible.

I have a question about the difficulty of correcting the paint. I have a '08 A3 that the paint is quite damaged on and looks like this car. My detailer has done some work but to go further will require a bit of work. As a professional detailer how would you rate the ease of working on this Audi's paint relative to an "average" vehicle?

Assuming yours is a black Audi like this one I would say that the paint on this one was tricky to work with. It's all about your test spot and dialing in the process there then moving forward in the ready if the car.

A test spot will be key in determining how hard or soft the paint is and what will be needed. Remember start with the least aggressive method to get the job done. With the right knowledge, technique, and tools you can get a flawless finish on any vehicle.

The combo I used gave me the results I needed to achieve a near perfect finish.
