So, as some of you may know, I've been extremely busy with college lately :bash:

This hasn't left me with much time to detail my own car as most of the time I'm detailing it's other people's rides.

Also, I've decided to sell my prized 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS. There is nothing wrong with the car, I've just decided that I'd rather sell it and have ~20 grand in my pocket

I figure with $27,000 total after selling the car I can start contributing to a Roth IRA or other retirement account and retire a few years early and also have enough for a down payment on a house as I already have a 2007 Cobalt LT I drive daily.

However, Wendy White SS will be surely missed.

Due to work and college, I have to do the complete detail before I sell it in multiple parts depending on what days I'm off and free so there will be several parts to this escapade (at the moment I'm thinking four-Undercarriage, wheels/tires/wheel wells, interior, and then paint decontamination (rail dust) and correction.)

Today I decided to do the undercarriage.

I wasn't expecting to get perfect results and decided that whatever APC+ and SD wouldn't get rid of accompanied by some scrubbing I would leave on there as the next owner probably won't care as much as I do anyways.

But I wanted to add something to my 'For Sale' Advertisement that others might not have--a clean undercarriage Im the MAN

Enough jabber, on to the pictures!

I also did the exhaust while I was down there

As you can see, the results aren't perfect. There were a few areas that I couldn't get to and will have to do when I take the wheels and tires off for part 2. But overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for looking!

Incredible results and excellent photography and posting.
I bet it looks better than when the car was new!

Thanks! :xyxthumbs:

It definitely looks better than new under there. There were some rock chips, as seen, but that's no big deal.

Awesome write up.

Clean cars always sell fast.

Thanks!

And I would hope so--clean car, factory and extended warranty, and well taken care of. All she needs now is a decontamination and a once-over with M205 and P085rd :hungry:

Oh no, that's so sad. Such a shame they discontinued the Cobolt as well, and replaced it with that awful cruise. Yuk!

That undercarriage looks awesome, I do love a car to be factory fresh rather than just "clean". This is part of that factory fresh look I feel.

And I know :(

Personally, I much prefer the look of the Cobalt:

Wow that's like a night and day difference! I don't see these kinds of threads so much, so it was very interesting. Really nice job on the exhaust as well!

Just wondering, did you put it on a lift and clean it or do it some other way?

I rarely see these threads either, so I wanted to make sure and take pictures as I haven't been able to take pictures of customer's cars recently due to the college/work workload as well as not having a decent camera. However, I think undercarriage threads are my favorite because there's such a dramatic difference :props:

Also, unfortunately I had to clean it from underneath without the help of a lift or ramps. I have ramps that I had planned on using, but had forgotten them at a friend's house

And don't get me wrong, this is a sports car and it's quite low to the ground so it was a lot of shimmying and sliding to get this thing done! Im the MAN

Wow. Nice work. If you weren't in Georgia, I would hire you to detail my undercarriage! :dblthumb2:

Are you serious? The Cobalt was junk compared to the Cruze.... the new model looks better, drives better, and is FAR more comfortable and roomy inside. You couldn't pay me to drive a Cobalt -- every time I had one as a rental I was running my knees into the dash!

Haha, to each their own I guess. I have no problems fitting into it and I'm no midget! Both of mine have been extremely reliable and comfortable. However, I have heard of horror stories with them but I reckon I'm just lucky :props:

I am just biased for coupes, and in a few years will probably purchase a used 2012 Mustang GT :)

The Cobalt might be a little small, but I believe Daewoo and Suzuki had a hand in designing the Cruze. I feel that GM makes the best cars, but I absolutely HATE imports with a passion so I'm gonna have to say Cobalt is better than the Cruze, but to each his own.

+1
You can NOT kill a 2.2 Cobalt...believe me I've tried! I put canola oil in an old cavalier and it still ran, even with 270,000 miles on the clock!

Get back to me after you've actually been inside of and driven a Cruze. Until then you're jumping to ridiculous conclusions.
