I really want to top wg3.0 with souveran. What do I use before going back to the sealant to ensure bonding? Is this not a good idea? Main thing is for the paint to last as I will probably keep the truck 20+ years.

You can put wax on top of sealants no problem. More layers, more protection. It is very easy to make paint last a long time with just good care

Thanks for the reply but I'm talking about going back to the sealant once you have applied souveran. What product to use after souveran to ensure the sealant will bond?

Once you top a sealant with a wax you don't put sealant on again. The kinda funny thing is your using two extremes. WGDGPS (one of the most durable) topped with Souveran (a boutique wax with no longevity). If your looking for long term protection without going to coatings I would go with 2 coats of WGPGS and save my Souveran.

Well one of the easiest ways to prep paint is to use a paint cleaner such as Pinnacle paint cleansing lotion. It uses a solvent to dissolve old LSP and has a slight filler to increase gloss. Use this and put WDGPS back on, two coats

What are the drawbacks? It seems like I read that Mike Phillips was not a fan of doing this, but I may be wrong.
