This car had to be one of my worst enemies! I could not get a hologram free finish on the soft Honda Black paint for anything! I eventually gave up, let the owner take the car home and ordered some new "better" products to try and tackle it again. I started this car the middle of last month and had to wait on my new products to come in from the UK, so I just now finished the car today! I must say it was worth the wait and the money for the new products by 3M!! Enjoy!

This particular s2000 was outfitted with some wonderful pin striping and also some rubber door edge guards! :-o:oops: Needless to say, they had to go!

The pinstriping was another story..which inspired me to invest in a nice little rubber eraser tool just for this purpose!

When i can't tell where the reflections end and the car begins, that's just a sign of an AWESOME JOB!!!!!!!.... It's almost hard to eve pick up the car because everything looks so wet lol. I'm a fan of your work. This keeps me busy when i get bored on the internet. Real quick though, what exactly makes "soft paint" so hard to work with??

almost everything is too aggressive for it even the finest of finishing polishes, finally 3m Ultrafina did the trick on a 3m uk finishing pad.

gotcha! that adds another word to my detailing vocabulary. Now i saw on one pic that you used the SIP/orange pad. That looked like it did a great job as well. Was that also alil too aggresive for this paint or did it work out being just right?

Well, you start aggressive and work your way back down, just like wet sanding. SIP/Orange was the most aggressive and does all the cutting work, but it will leave its own swirling and bad holograms(3d waves in the paint), so you have to step down, which removes the fine swirls from the previous step but still too aggressive not to leave holograms, then you use finishing polish to remove the holograms and the result is what you see! ;)

Nice work Bro!

Is that the blue waffle foam pad? I have a quart of the Ultrafine, haven't used it in a long time though....guess I need to revisit it. ;)

I did a Balck '06 a while back, think I finsihed off with M09 on the PC and finishing pad.

P_D...white pad and optimum polish might be the ticket, i mean, i see you've obviously got a formula, but white or one step less aggro pad and OP might get you what you need, then finish with poli-seal and top with whatever.

that combo works wonders for the late model civics i've done.

but, as i've said, you've got quite the combo there, whatever it is, because that car looks absolutely stunning.

I may of missed it but what was the products you use from start too finish if you could us Thanks ps i always see your trucks around Parkland

Not my trucks..lol.

I used:
SIP/Orange
106FA/White
3m Ultrafina/3m uk finishing pad

Great Job! The car looks Fantastic. Do you have a PC? if so why not use that for the final polish to alleviate any holograms?

The reflection pictures of the hood were fantastic. This is one of the best turn arounds I've ever seen. Great work.
