Presidential Detailed: 2004 Audi S4- M105 Knock-Out!

Another outstanding job!

But one thing bothered me a great deal - seeing a talented young man using that blower and rotory and NOT wearing ear protection.

Believe me, do that work for more than a year and your hearing WILL suffer decades from now. Please listen, while you still can hear.

Regards,
GEWB

Thanks for the concern! ;) I have actually been thinking of buying some ear phones to listen to while I work, think the music will cancel enough noise from the machine?

You will need something that actually plugs the ear not sits on the ear. Don't turn the music up so loud that the blower would be "easier" on your ears! I know 'cause I used to listen to music between 80dB and 100dB with peaks into the 120s - did this for years and now, 25 years later, it is taking it's toll.

Thanks for listening.

GEWB

Yeah, I figure a nicer ear bud may block enough noise that the music would not need to be turned up too loud to hear it clearly. I for several years had a pretty loud stereo in my truck, that has already taken its toll and I am only 23! haha!

If you are a very detailed person and only like good quality, which I assume most of us on here does, I would highly recomend Ultimate Ears Super Fi.5 in ear earbuds. I have been using them for 2 years and I travel a lot by bus/skytrain. Since I got these I can listen to my music without it bieng to loud and not hear any bus noise at all.

I am 22 and consider myself to be an audiofile, so my ears are important to me. If you find that particular model to expensive try Shure's entry level noise cancelling earbuds.

Hope this helped :)

p.s: two thumbs up on that detail job, amazing. It makes me happy to see someone only 1 year older achieve such a look. Glad to see I am in the right place to start my detailing training.

Thanks! I will definitely look into those!

Agreed! Bose sound very "muddy". I use Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 Over the ear headphones with noise cancelling and they are great! If you want to, you can even get custom earbuds that are molded to your ears. Ive heard people saying they use them when they vaccume and cant even hear the vaccum:D

I know this is :offtopic:, but I figured Id give my $.02

Great job by the way! Car looks great. Has some orange peel eh?

I have to say you are becoming one of the best I have seen when it comes to details. Great job, you should be very proud of your skills, at your age you have gotten what takes some years to achieve!

Pres, I gotta say, you are the frickin master! Your jobs are always flawless. Just curious, what do you charge (ballpark) for a recon like this?

Thanks, I typically charge anywhere from 500-1k for full paint correction/exterior details. Its all hourly.
