This is one of my dream cars, the GT3 RS being my top dream car. ;) This car was very well kept and had all the options including the ceramic composite brakes. Nothing short of an amazing car! Unfortunately a rotary was put into the wrong hands and let loose on this unfortunate 911 Turbo! There were crazy amounts of holograms and swirls in the paint, which needed to be removed ASAP.

The owner was nice enough to deliver the car clean. :lol: This is not how he generally leaves the car, but it had just rained and he knew I would be taking care of it.

I performed an ONR wash inside due to the extreme heat and direct sunlight.

I was amazed at how quickly these bird droppings etched into the paint and even more amazed that it was completely removed with little effort of the rotary.

I was in a bit of a rush so I unfortunately did not get any during shots of the sides of the car, but trust me they were just as bad as the front. I did manage to get some shots of the rear of the car being completed.

The trunk portion was carefully taped off to ensure every panel was corrected.

Great job and your post comes just in time for some last minute inspiration as my order from ag is to arrive later today and I will be detailing my 2009 triple black Porsche 911 Turbo\ cabriolet I purchased a flex 3401, Wolfgang dgps kit and Wolfgang fuzion kit along with just about everything else ag had to sell
The car is only about a month old and I want to start off on the rightfoot. Feed back please
Do you, or anyone else who might be reading this, have any tips that might be specific to detailing a black Porsche.I am new to this and this will be my first detail. You mentioned soft paint on a Porsche. Is that something I should be dealing with in any specific way. Fortunately the car is not in need of any paint correction. And I would like to keep it that way lol

I would just say take your time, dont rush, and if this is your first time polishing you may want to set 2 or 3 days aside to allow yourself some time to figure it out. I would make sure to tape off ANY rubber trim/badges/edges to ensure you do not hit or burn them. The Porsche paint is very soft, so you most likely will not need a harsh polish or pad, start with a mild polish and a light cutting pad on one spot, compare it to before and decide if your ok with it or want more correction, the move up. Hope this helps, and good luck with your detail!

Thanks for the help. I also purchased menz 85rd. Would you say that is a light enough polish for the Porsche? Also as the car is not in need of any paint correction do I need to use the 85rd at this time? There are no swirls. I am going to wash & clay the car and then use the wg paint polish enhancer followed by an ipa wipe down. Then I will apply the wgdgps followed by a 2nd coat on the next day followed by a coat of fuzion on the next day after that. How does this sound to you? If I am to use the 85rd at what point in the process should I apply it? Do I apply it after the ipa wipe down? And should I do another ipa wipe down after the 85rd befor I apply the wgdgps?

I apologize if I appear a little O.C.D.. I just love this car so much and want to do right by it. It being such a fine piece of German engineering ....and yea I don't want to have to hear my wife if I mess up lol

Can you elaborate a little more on what your polishing process was on the car? The menzerna acronyms lose me big time.

If there are no swirls on the car, you could always use a light finishing polish to just gloss it up ^.^ The Wolfgang Polish Enhancer looks to be right up your alley for that one reading the product page if no correction is needed.

If you were to polish with 85rd:
Wash->Dry->Clay->85rd->IPA Wipedown->WG Polish Enhancer->Buff off->WGDGPS->wait till tommorow->Buff off and second application->Wait again->Fuzion-> Buff off.
 
Wow ! I've seen some of your work you posted .You do some top notch work.The Reflections are Incredible . I'm sure your made that somebody elses dream car .If the owner was not speakless? If he wasn't he'd have to a couple of screws loose. Outstanding. The owner must learned the difference from Expert to Novice Keep up the good work I love looking @ it

Haha, thanks! The owner loved it, he actually busted out his own dslr camera to snap some shots! :)

Hi,
I have been doing what you and RYANDMARTINI said with respect to detailing my black 911 turbo cab. I am about to apply the 2ND coat of WDGPS and I have noticed that what I believe to be clay residue in a very fine seam were two pieces of plastic trim meet on the lower rear 1/4 panel. The thickness of the seam is about the thickness of a playing card. What would you use to clean out the clay from the seam?
Thanks for all of your expert advice so far after the 1ST coat of WDGPS the shine is blinding. I mean that literally as I was actually seeing black spots after I looked away from the car.

another excellent job by presidential detail. Got any tips for doing plastic pieces like some side skirts and front/rear bumpers/wings?

What do you guys charge for your corrections?
