I'm only going to be buying from Amazon. Because I've got some Amazon credit to use and I figured if I stop going to car washes I would spend less on the payment for a pressure washer. What pressure washer would you recommend? Gas, electric, doesn't matter. I'm no expert but I'm thinking gas is probably more reliable. No clue. I'm looking for something with decent pressure though. Anyone? :)

If I was just washing a personal vehicle I don't think I'd buy a pressure washer. A lot of guys just use a spray nozzle on a hose or even the sheeting method because they think pressure washers are too harsh. That said, they do help on engines, wheels, and wheel wells if they get too dirty.

If you decide to get one, and it's just for personal use, I'd go with electric. They are simple and easy to use. You really don't need more than 2000 psi max.

My local Sam's Club has a decent looking electric for $100. It would be perfect for car washing and you can buy an additional 3 year warranty.

Well damn if I don't need a pressure washer that just saved me tons of money. I'll just buy some small stuff for the regular garden hose. I have a pretty big air compressor so I can buy one of those air foam guns too. Thanks a lot for the info :)

Pressure washers have many more uses than cars if you're a homeowner. You can clean numerous different thing with them. If you want a good one and don't want to spend more than $3-400 then go gas. I had a $180 electric one that was 1800psi and it sucked. My gas one is a 2600psi and is BA. If you want a good electric one you're going to spend over $1000 otherwise they honestly aren't worth the money. Plus gas is way more usable just simply because of the mobility. All you have to worry about it a hose, not a long expensive extension cord.

Now that I think about it I have seen some decent gas ones for about $200. I wouldn't get anything less the a 2600psi though. Gas ones are nice because they have all the different pressure tips you can get for different uses.

I have to say, I disagree. I have a Karcher 1800 psi electric power washer, and it's great. Comes with two lances (one that's adjustable, and the other is a "turbo" lance for heavy cleaning). I use it weekly for car washing, and about once a month for cleaning the driveway, patio, and general household stuff. It's reliable, quiet and incredibly effective. Got it for about $150, easy to connect my foam cannon to, and a great tool all around.

I guess if you were going to use it around the house as well, it might be a good investment to spend some bread on a good gas power washer, otherwise if I was just washing my car, I don't think I'd make the investment.

Most important on pressure washers is the pump. A lot of cheap pressure washers have decent engines but a crappy pump that will die within a year.

My washer has a cat 9 pump that I really like. I've used it 5 or 6 days a week for 1.5 years and haven't had any problems.

I'm a professional and have a shop, but when I wash my own vehicles, I usually do rinseless with the two bucket method.

That's why I suggested the cheap 100 dollar pressure washer...you could just bust it out every few months to really deep clean your engine and wheel wells, but otherwise you don't really need one. Yeah the 100 dollar pressure washer might crap out, but that's what the 3 year warranty is for haha. :xyxthumbs:

If your only doing your own car then the budget electrics are fine. I have and use a Camspray 1500a electric( just shy of 700) . As a gas unit would not suit my purposes. To noisy and big to fit in my trunk. The camspray is built like a tank.
